I have a question to those who have done/doing the duke of edinburgh award

Would you recommend it? I've had a bad first impressions signing up, i was wondering if the activities are worth doing?

I did my bronze and I really enjoyed it, I wanted to go on and do my silver but my high school stopped bothering with it after bronze.

It's worth doing if it's the sort of thing you enjoy (especially the expedition), but if you don't think you'll enjoy it don't bother, it's really just up to you

See I think I'd love to do the expeditions and activities, i really want to have a new hobby meet new people. Help further develop myself (Especially in my confidence) But it seems to be more of a monitoring service, to keep you on track on doing external hobbies, charity and psychical exercise. I thought I'd be doing more activities with the DOEA, like scouts. :S

I'm currently still waiting for them to contact me back. I enrolled last Thursday for silver. :I

I want to achieve a gold before I hit the age limit of 24, as I'm 21 now. My school never did the duke of edinburgh award, unfortunately.

I thought I’d update you guys on the situation. I received my login details and I just need to fill out the volentary, exercise and skills that I’d be doing to go towards my doea. I just need to have a administrator to confirm my actions/weekly requirements and i’m sorted Can’t wait to start the doea.

i still haven't started 2 of my sections yet, but they are both 3 months long (doing bronze)

bearing in mind my practice expedition is this week baHAH

On mine 1 has to be 12 months long, then 6 months followed by 3. Though I can swap them around. It says that my expedition is 3 days long. I wonder if i’d have mock ones. I’ll have to ask them when I next go in :S I wanna do gold eventually, but i’m Testing it out with silver first.
