i have a silly question about villager birthdays

it was cole's birthday in my town yesterday and upon giving him his gift i noticed that he was wearing the most adorable birthday cake hat *complete with lit candles* on his head!
I Want That Hat!!! LOL!
i have never seen it up for sale, or as an item at all, but then i havent played the game entirely and ive missed all of the events so far. is that hat anywhere in this game for purchase or a holiday gift or something?

The birthday cake hat? It's a present you might receive on your birthday (birthday tip- share extra cupcakes with villagers for a chance to get more birthday items, it seems you have a better chance if your friendship is high), and IIRC, it comes in a few colors! You could probably find people selling/trading them on here, too

You might also find one for sale here on the forums! Getting it organically through the game with cupcakes is pretty cute though! But just in case you want one of a specific color you can always look around here in the shops for it!

you know? i was just on nookazon and found someone that was willing to trade the hat for the beautiful statue *the real one that i have* and they opened their gate and then when i tried looking for their dodo code they had not only shut their gate, but they had blocked me for absolutely no reason!

Lol, there's always the option of creating extra characters. I created a few (I always do) and their birthdays came before my main character's (who has my birthday, in January) so I got a few birthday items earlier! Not only is the hat cute, but there are also super cute sunglasses and furniture, too! I love the table especially, it even has a coloration that works great for Halloween ☺ There's also the option of TTing, but keep in mind you can only celebrate a birthday once per year- even if you TTed back to your birthday, say, in February, then travelled back, if you went back to February again you wouldn't be able to celebrate again.

It might be worth checking out the trading forum on here, though! People often charge way less than you might think, and will often trade for other items, too. And bells are pretty easy to earn- I've got a fair amount of them, and I've earned them PURELY from chatting on here!

Yah, I've heard a lot of bad stories about Nookazon (though some good ones as well!) and prefer to stick here for trading/buying/selling. I've definitely found people on here tend to be SUPER nice and generous!
