Hello everyone, recently I have not been playing animal crossing at all. I only play about once a week and that is just checking on my dreamies then switching off. I have been straight avoiding it since I think January. It is fair from there till June as I was studying hard for my finals but I have left school now and I still have not been up to playing it. Any suggestions on finding love for the game like I did when I first got it? Thanks :D

Honestly I am just like you lmao. I play for a long period, don't play for a long period, or just different patterns. Try playing with some good pals, or hanging out with your villagers. What sparked my eyes was always that sense of wonder of trying new things. I loved watching the fireworks or just listening to the game music. Also K.K. has a pretty good show  Try some of these things :D

Maybe you could set goals for yourself? Whether it's designing your town, or trying to achieve badges or completing your catalog, etc, give yourself a reason to play.

Or as already suggested, maybe you just need to enjoy the little things, instead of focusing on the bigger things

I agree that setting goals for yourself, especially ones you've never accomplished, is a great way to maintain interest. I'm enjoying seriously landscaping my town for the first time ever; Feldspar's dream address is nearly ready, but I keep finding new things to add.

However, if you're not having fun playing the game, I would suggest that you just . . . don't. If you don't have an issue changing your 3DS clock, write down the date you last played on a scrap of paper and stick it in your 3DS so that you'll have it when you decide to return to the game and you won't have to worry about losing villagers. I've found that nothing makes me like AC:NL less than trying to force myself to play it when life is really busy, or treating it like a chore/responsibility. Making yourself play as if you "have" to play might just kill your love for the game, unless you find that one of our suggestions truly revitalizes your enjoyment of it. Sometimes you just have to set AC aside for however long it takes, and one day you'll think "I miss Animal Crossing! I'm going to go back and check up on my town."

take a break from it, then come back to it after a while. thats what i do (and am currently doing). i take a few months off from it then when i come back i get sucked into it again.
