I invited a villager from the campsite, but the next day their name wasn't in the plot?

Okay so this is what happened. I traded away Cherry to someone and at the same time I had a visitor on the campsite on that same day which was Violet. I invited her to the island and she did confirm with me that she wanted to move in. So here's what happened. When I time traveled I look at the plot and I noticed that it had no name in it. Does that mean to tell me that the visitor who I invited at the campsite fail to show up or is it because they are waiting in the moving queue when I time travel the next day? I don't know if this is a glitch that I discovered, but I wanna know if the visitor on the campsite should show up in the next 2 days? I am confused.

I've never heard of this happening before nor do I really remember how long it takes for the house to be built since I haven't had anyone new move into my island in a LONG time, I can't rule this out as being a glitch but you may just have to wait a day or two, and there's a chance time traveling might have something to do with this odd behavior

Well here's update. I time traveled the next day and guess what. Violet didn't even show up. Instead I got Zell. So that means to tell me that interaction I had with Violet when she wanted to move in while talking to her at the campsite for whatever reason didn't work. This is so weird....

Huh...odd. This must be a glitch then since she did confirm she was going to move to your island

That is super weird. It must be some sort of glitch, because I've never heard of it before 😕 Is it possible you didn't save after inviting her?
(also, if you really want Violet and can get a slot open, I have her Amiibo)

Nah I only wanted her just so I can work on getting her photo, but she did say she wanted to move in. Yes I did save the game after she said that and then I time traveled, but by the time I did the plot was empty after Cherry (who I traded her to someone else) was gone and the plot didn't say "Sold" and didn't tell me the name. Thats when I time traveled again and it said "Zell" instead. I am not sure what happened.

So Cherry was in boxes on the day Violet was in your campsite. I think because the plot wasn’t empty Violet couldn’t move in. I had this problem awhile ago. For me Axel was in the process of moving and Wolfgang was in the campsite. I couldn’t get Wolfgang to move in because someone else was already moving out.

Hmm this seems to be a glitch then. I hope Nintendo fixes this, because this could be troubling.

Hmm it sounds like she didn't move in because Cherry hadn't fully moved out yet? I think you need to have the plot empty to get a campsite villager to move in.

I think since your plot wasn't empty, when you time travelled the next day, it just autofilled Zell instead.

To add onto this, if you had 10 villagers and none of them were leaving, usually the campsite villager will ask to kick someone out, did Violet do that? Since Cherry was already moving that might have been the issue? Idk im spitballing here 😂

Man this game is so weird sometimes. In my opinion I think that if someone already moved out, they should at least appear in the plot and its suppose to say "Sold". Even if they weren't in boxes it should not cancel out the move in process after you work so hard to invite that random villager on the campsite. Considering I am not the only one who had this issue, this is something that should still be fixed.

I've played this game last year and I never once encountered a glitch, but this the first time I have had one happened to me like this. I will remember next time not to invite random villagers from campsite after another one was given away to someone else, but its like how am I supposed to let the game pick the villager? Since it only picks whoever is on the spot, it doesn't pick anyone else.. I am so mad that this happened. I mean its not a big deal I can always try again, but still.

This game does have its quirks, I suppose. I think the campsite in itself can be kinda broken sometimes, hence why I barely use it. That's pretty weird.
