i think i understand how this villager trading stuff works, so any chance somebody can help me get alfonso to move into my town?

I don't have Alfonso, but it might help if you state what you can offer e.g. TBT bells, In-game bells, other villager trades, etc.

Well, Alfonso is in the tier 5-6 range so there's a good chance you can get him for free.

Well, there used to be tiers, not official ones but yeah.
I believe it kinda dissolved by itself some time ago?
If you dig thru old threads, you can see there are quite a number of threads on weekly updates on tiers.
