I've received an infraction for having multiple accounts, many of these accounts having names I've never heard of. I'm extremely upset by this and I'd like to have it removed.

Go to The Bell Tree main page and scroll down to the bottom where it lists all online users. Mods and Admins have colored names.

they have red and blue names, you can look on the 'who's online' of the main forums page to see which mod/admin is online

You can also find them under Quick Links > View Site Leaders.

Infractions are not a big deal, honestly. They are like a slap to the wrist. The accounts in question likely had the same ip address as yours, thus the infraction for multiple accounts. If you have siblings or roommates I would ask them if these accounts are theirs and talk to gandalf or Kaiaa about it.

I usually use a public computer to go on this site. I've recommended a few people to this site at the library where I use the computer, so that may be why. It's still very upsetting because I don't want people to think I'm a scammer or something.

I would contact Kaiaa about it. If it's a public IP that you use then something should be able to be done. Also no one can see your infractions or warnings, I believe.

You've been here since February and still don't know them? Awk lol.

I don't know who they are, either. But making a thread may help others who don't know but need to know. :)

My sis-in-law sometimes uses my account to check this forum out, too, and I'm not worried about infractions she may incur, either. It really is no big deal overall, but I see the point the OP has about others wondering about his/her trustworthiness for trades, etc. Also, PM-ing doesn't seem to really be a be-all-end-all solution and a thread can help other people who have the same question. It's not like mods aren't just ordinary people, there's really no need to overly worry about things. After all, this place is labelled "ask" the HQ. So why is a thread such a huge deal?

OP don't worry. You now know how to spot a mod's name and a thread is no biggie. I hope you can get your problem resolved. Public computers are common and you shouldn't have to be made to worry because of it. Good luck!

Feel free to PM any of the Blue moderators or the Red admin.
