I noticed that I have a lot of hated villagers on my island.

I am kind of worried that if I like these villagers I would considered to be someone who escaped from a mental institution. I have really low self-esteem.

I donโ€™t think people would think that at all. They have so many different designs for villagers because people are so different with who they like. It is nice to see islands that have less liked villagers on them. There are plenty of people I have seen here and on Twitter that also like those villagers.

honestly, some of those villagers are cute. i mean, i have hazel and i love her, she's so cute, and i want to let lucky go even tho he's really popular so it's up to u

It shouldn't matter what other people think of the villagers. What matters is whether or not you like the villagers. It's your island, not anyone else's. If there are actually people judging your villagers, you should just ignore them if possible.

How could this handsome young squirrel man be hated?Get villagers that you like no matter if they're hated, unpopular, popular or funny looking.I have several "hated" villagers in addition to Sheldon(Rodney,Jambette and Quillson among others) but I like them and that's all that matters.

When I first started back in March 2020, my line up included

Starters
  • Axel - Jock
  • Agnes - Uchi
3 Houses for Nook
  • Al - lazy
  • Truffles - Peppy
  • Gala - Normal
Forced Camper: Hippeux - Smug

Next Random: Gaston - Cranky.

Not the best lineup.

Popular, un popular, most hated, most loved.

Keep in mind that those are just titles people have, or rather opinions for these animals. But in the end its up to you, because people are judgy and kinda just have to accept that. but keep in mind its your island, your villagers. Who you want to love, spend time with is up to you

If your worried about what the randos on Reddit are gonna think then yes, that would effect your confidence. Tier lists are the bane of animal crossing because it makes รฝou feel bad when you see whos at the bottom or top. But don't let them get to you. Just crunch them up and think about who you want

Its about your bonds and ties in the end. How you feel. Theirs exqual opinions for both.

Because for all the people going around flonting their Shino, Ione, there are others who're prancing around with their Quilson and Rodney โ™ก I actually know someone who has a Rodney and a Raymond on their island.

Ive been where you are, if you need to talk please feel free to message me. I know how it feels.

I think hated villagers need a second chance, I figured out people didn't like Monique, I love her! I think she looks cute in her makeup, I have her in my village on the gamecube and she is a fun character to have. and Lulu, we are both sagittarius

No idea why someone would actually judge you over the villagers you like. That's just silly. You like what you like. I might be surprised if someone liked some of the particularly ugly villagers, but I wouldn't think poorly of the person.

Iโ€™d worry more about the mental health of someone who actually judges peopleโ€™s virtual animal neighbors.

I totally get overthinking things, but this really isnโ€™t something to concern yourself with. If anything, I kind of admire people liking the more โ€œunusualโ€ villagers

I agree with the above; there's no such thing as a bad villager (I believe)! ๐Ÿ˜Š I think all of the villagers are cute, and were created to be loved by someone. I personally think Stinky is pretty adorable, but I haven't been fortunate enough to find him on a mystery island yet. I think Pietro is very cute too! I like the designs of Al, Ike and Sheldon, but everyone will have a different preference. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Everyone is going to have different residents on their island, and as long as you're happy with your residents, that's all that matters. ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pietro is one of my favorite villagers. In my eyes, everyone is allowed to like whatever villager they like. I understand the low self-esteem, but to me, Animal Crossing allows me to be myself, regardless of what real life people think of me. It's a safe place for me. If you like the 'hated' villagers on your island, more power to you!
Much like how every Pokemon is someone's favorite (regardless of my own feelings), every villager can be someone's favorite. I think you're fine. You don't need to have the most popular villagers to have fun with Animal Crossing.
On one of my previous islands, I had Pietro, Marcel, and Stitches- Stitches being the only popular one in that trio- running an amusement park. Pietro being a clown, Marcel is the mime dog, and Stitches gave out prizes. It was fun and cute, and that's really what Animal Crossing is all about to me- having fun with the villagers.
Being honest here, I didn't have a lot of friends. To this day, I don't have many irl friends. But Animal Crossing helps fill that void in my life.

honestly, you shouldn't worry about that because if u like something, u shouldn't have to give up something u love just bc ppl dont like it. dont be afraid to be unique. and dont worry abt being considered someone who escaped from a mental institution. if i can get away with loving ruby, u can certainly have 3 not-so-scary villagers on your island <3
