I really like the New Horizons soundtrack.

I know this isn’t a popular opinion as of yet, but coming from somebody who has played every main game in the series - New Horizons is right up at the top with Wild World.

It’s upbeat, it’s charming, it’s got some samples from the Wild World soundtrack as well (you just have to listen to them, some are more prominent than others.), and lastly - when it rains I get major Banjo Kazooie vibes.

Who else agrees?

Me too, it's so jazzy and upbeat during the day and pretty chill at night. I love it!

the night music is so good. i love how weird it is. its all quirky and goofy and recalls back to population growing for me. i did like NLs music but as ive said before, it felt kind of somber and serious at times. i can bob my head to the new horizons music!

I like it too! I don't think it's quite as good as Wild World for me but I like that it's more upbeat than New Leaf. It reminds me of Population Growing more than anything although I hear samples from Wild World as well (looking at you 9:00pm). I'm pretty obsessed with 7am and 10am.

I really like it too! While I haven't listened to every hour, it's nice to have something a little bit different but still in the spirit of AC music I've heard folks talk about how 8am is a bit Too Much but I woke up and played this morning and it made me feel excited and energized to get going on my island

I love it too! It reminds me a lot of the 'population growing' soundtrack. I really love the chill evening and night music, especially.

Glad to hear so many people like it too! Has anybody else picked up some Banjo Kazooie vibes while playing during weather? (Thinking about the random clunks reminds me of the level with the giant tree and changing seasons.)

I love it! I've listened to it even without playing, lol. I think I'll always prefer GCN and Wild World's soundtrack in the franchise, but this is almost on par with those games, imo. I love that it's super jazzy and I personally adore all the afternoon-night tracks. The only track that I don't enjoy much is 8:00 am. Other than that, they really hit it out of the park with the music.

It's probably my least favourite but it's Animal Crossing music so I'll always love it! I think what NL couldn't do for the day tracks NH did perfectly, but other way around for the night themes.

WW is my favourite soundtrack, NL's night themes/GC morning/day/evening themes are great and NH's morning, evening and a couple of night themes are good too. There's always at least two I don't like from each soundtrack and the rest I love.

(12AM and 6PM are my faves purely because they sound like WW <3)

I actually really like the music also! New Leaf had a soundtrack that I preferred but I'm wondering if as I play this game if the music will grow on me more and if I'm just biased because I played so much New Leaf. But I definitely don't think that it's as bad as alot of people are saying!

Personally I hear no difference between New Horizons and New Leaf. I like Animal Crossing music because it doesn't distract you from your gameplay, so I never really notice it until it's bad. I dislike one of the night songs though.

I can appreciate it! Some of it is super hip and uses a lot of non-traditional chords. I'm not surprised that people don't like it, some of it takes a trained ear! I like that they moved towards more realistic sounds

I've only seen a few people say they dislike it. It's not as good as GC's sountrack but it's better than New Leaf's that's for sure.

I have to admit that I was not sure about it when I first heard it. But after I slept on it and listened again today, I really love the tunes. It is jazzy and slightly funky. It reminds me a lot of Population Growing's music which I have playing through my AC chrome extension.

It is very different from New Leaf and I will always adore New Leaf's music because I love melodic tracks. But, New Horizons' music is just fun.
