A member here has a post in a forum asking what is going wrong with her powersave device. This person has the very same profile selfie pic there as she does here and she is rather aggressively selling and trading here for TBT bells for her unorderable and rares. That is against the rules here, I thought? I PM'd a mod several days ago and haven't yet heard back. Does nobody really care as long as people are happy?

I am concerned about this, but if nobody cares I won't post a link to her post. I wanted to ask first if I should or if I should just let her sell and trade to people who may not really mind.

Yes it's against the rules to have 2 accounts

Um if she got the items from a Powersave and is selling them here then yes, it's against the rules. You should probably report this thread so a mod or admin sees it quicker. :) Also I would try PMing another mod or admin. The one you PM'ed may be busy with things.

Wait now I'm confused. Are they selling things here or on anther forum? :/

She is selling things here. She had asked about an error message on her device at the other place in the powersave thread.

I didn't reveal who the person is yet but I may indeed try another mod. Thanks! Oh, and I'll report this thread. I've never reported a thread and forgot that I could. I'll do that. Thank you for the advice.

I was really confused at first, (you should probably make it a little more clear that you found the person on your nephew's forum, or maybe I'm just stupid ;-; ) but, I do believe that it's against the rules to sell things from a powersaves device.
However, I'm not sure if a staff member would ban or give an infraction with the not-so-reliable proof of a profile pic :p

Talking about powersaving on TBT in general (unless if you mention it's a forbidden subject) isn't allowed. I can't imagine why they made such a device.

Oh, and did you know that people on GameFAQs don't see anything wrong with powersaving? I choose not to get involved at all.

Yep. But Powersaves is a cheating device that can give you almost any item in the game, 999,999,999 bells in your bank, and make unlimited villagers. (9,000 Marshals and Julians' for everone! YAY! Not really. ;) :p )

Oh wow! That sounds way worse than duping. They're killing the game by getting up to 1 less than a billion bells in a day or less. How terrible is that!

Maybe not and I considered that, but 2 exact profile photos is pretty exact. Avatars, no, but a photo, yes. Still, that is part of why I chose to ask. I'll let the mods decide. I reported this and they can take it from here if they want.

That's a good job. I think powersavers shouldn't be allowed to use the trading boards.

Thanks for that. I'm probably more bothered than I should be because I know how some people here feel about maybe buying from someone items that are created or duped. I don't want them to be cheated. But again, it may be none of my business. It was pure chance I was with my nephew at his pc when I saw that very familiar pic. I said, "I've seen her before!" And then it dawned on me where.

Ugh...I probably should leave this thread and let a mod decide to investigate or not as they wish. I don't want trouble, but when I see something very weird and suspect I at least want to let them have the opportunity to decide for themselves. I was probably confusing in my OP because I am nervous about this and can't think as straight as I usually (sometimes!) can.

No reason for you to be nervous! :)

But yeah, Powersaves is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse then duplicating. I have one since I bought it just to check it out. (No, my bells aren't fake. Don't worry peeps! I wouldn't do that. Where's all the fun getting them yourself? ;) )

You can get pretty much any item, and they have most games on there. So. The thing is that it uses cartridges to edit the game save or whatever and it doesn't work if you have the game downloaded onto your 3/2ds. :p

Well I don't have a powersave device, but now that I heard about it and what it does, I think it needs to be taken more seriously than duping.

Heh...I'm an old lady (compared to you all!) and so I didn't really know what to think.

But now that I understand the device a bit more I see how serious it really is. I mean I think people should do what makes them happy with their game, like my nephew said he probably will (ack!), but to then sell the items someplace where people have to earn their bells is just dishonest. There are plenty of places where people probably don't care, but this community is not one of them. My nephew is on Facebook and there are lots of people there who use the device and also dupe. But that's fine because they all know that. But here...that bothers me. I love it here and don't want people to be cheated. That's sad. :(

Thank you for alerting us to the situation and we are looking into it right now. These things usually take a number of days to resolve, especially with the fair going on.
