sorry i didn't know where to post this but i'm kinda worried i have a hacked pokemon on shield

i did a suprise trade for the first time and got this?? it was also holding a master ball which tbh i did actually take (kinda regretting that lol)

so anyway i looked up the website of the pokemon's name and the description said something about making pokemon and sending it to ur switch so i clicked on it and the actual website wasn't avaliable

now i'm just really confused, i might be wrong and it's just a pokemon they gave a weird name but idk

(again, sorry if i can't post this but i'm panicking)

I wouldn't worry so much to the point of panic. It does look hacked/genned/whatever, but it isn't going to harm your game. We're not really in the era of MissingNo. and Bad Eggs anymore.

If it would make you feel more comfortable, you can simply trade it onward or release it if you don't want to keep it.

that's good, i released it just in case 😅

Yeah players like that give Pokemon those names to advertise their YouTube/Twitch channel or website. Not in anyway harmful, but yeah, if you're feeling iffy about having a hacked Pokemon, you can just get rid of it :)

I have a hacked Greninja in Moon but it never did any harm or mess up anything. I got it from someone who didn't want it because they got it from some random person. I don't know any way that people could harm somebody's save file, so l wouldn't worry if you get another hacked Pokèmon.

honestly i have loads of hacked pokemon on my ds, i would never battle online with them or trade them away
and they never did anything to my ds but i was just a little worried about messing up my switch 😅

I still don't know if using a hacked Pokèmon online will make Nintendo angry. Sorta curious about that now. But that's understandable since switch is expensive and a lot of work have been done on your profile.

idk if it's still the same but in the 3DS era of games, they had hack checks that occurred before you were allowed to battle online. It just checked to make sure that the stats, movesets and abilities were within the acceptable range. Also that stuff like location met, shininess, gender, nature, and event moves were all in line as well, mainly for Pokemon that were only ever distributed in certain configurations through events (such as shiny event legendaries that are otherwise shiny-locked in the base game). Genned Pokemon, as long as they were genned properly, were tacitly allowed because there's virtually no way to distinguish between a properly genned Pokemon and one that was raised from scratch.

Like I said, I dunno if that's still the case, but it was their policy for the 3DS games.

Yeah...you do. You received an advert pokemon judging by its .com name. I usually keep them around as breedmons (that can be bred) and then toss them. I got a wondertraded .com Urshifu a few days ago and keep trading. I like my own mons with my OT name so thats why I don't keep them. They aren't glitchy so if you get one again it won't hurt your game in any way.

I just want to echo what others have said. Hacked Pokemon these days don't seem to break games or anything like the good old days. I received some through random trades and have kept them cause I liked them and my games were fine. This was during the Diamond and Pearl era. I'd never trade them to others without telling them they were hacked though.

I know you released it but I'm just kinda putting it out here. That was was weird though, advertising a website. Didn't ever think that was a thing.

I don’t think it’ll break your game at all. You probably won’t be able to use it in any of the online Pokémon tournaments they do though.

i'd be careful with the older games like x/y, black/white, etc., but with the newer games i wouldn't worry too much. i feel like nintendo's done more to prevent that sort of thing? i say to worry with the older games becus i once got a shiny hacked arceus thru wonder trade and it corrupted my save like a month later.

if you're not to sure about it you can always wonder trade or release it. i'd say release so you don't send it to some other unfortunate trader, but whichever you prefer.

I've got one of them about a week ago, Original Trainer with a web called machamps. Anyone else has it? There's a lot of them in every trade I attempt to do with other trainers :/

I've had a handful of Pokemon that have websites as trainer IDs. I've had the "machamps" one as well. It's unfortunate that people flood the mystery trades with these Pokemon...but, it's not a huge deal. Probably had 3 or 4 of them. Some were level 100's. One was even a shiny Blastoise. I released them all, just because. Honestly, it had nothing to do with them being hacked in my case...I just don't use Pokemon that have nicknames or weird credentials. If the shiny Blastoise had a normal name, I wouldn't really have had any problem with keeping it.

it's weird because something similar happened on my ultra moon game

i tried trading my level 1 snivy for some random level 100 shiny ultra beast someone put on the GTS (i'm pretty stupid, i wasn't even suspicious)
anyway i kept getting an error when trying to trade, now it won't let me trade
it says i have to wait a while but it's been a week now so basically i ruined my ultra moon game trying to get that stick ultra beast (i can't spell its name)

it was so obviously hacked but i didn't notice til now 😅
