After going over several ideas for new items and concepts, I have only four ideas left for my idea blog. There's a holiday idea, a music maker idea, villager chat idea, and town startup idea. Today's entry will be about the holiday.

I may have mentioned the group mechanic idea about which biomes have what items. What I didn't go over is how to obtain the Snowman Series, Ice Series, Mush Series, Winter Village Theme, Ski Theme, and Fall Forest Theme.

The catch here is that the snow people items (which has four of the themes I have mentioned) can only be obtained from the snow people. According to the Biome entry, it never snows in the Jungle biome. You can't build snowmen or igloos without snow. Also, mushrooms don't grow in the desert. And I do not want to live in a town where some non-DLC region-neutral items can never be obtained.

First of all, I'm going to go over how to get some of the items. The Snowboy will always give you the Snowman Series while the Snowmam will always give you the Ice Series. But obtaining them is different. Here are the normal items:

  • Jungle Biome - in the first half of the dry months, mushrooms will grow. Only one mushroom a day will be an item in the Mush Series. In the second half, there are some dead leaves to pick up. Like the Mush Series, one leaf a day is actually a Fall Forest item. Strangely, you get fall-themed items in a place where summer is permanent.
  • Forest Biome - to get the Ice Series, you have to build a perfect Snowmam. The Snowboys will ask you to catch snowflakes for them. Catch enough, and you can get items from the Snowman Series. The Snowman slots prizes are Winter Village items.
  • Desert Biome - to get the Snowman Series, you have to build a perfect Snowboy. The Snowmam will give you Ice Series items for every 3 or 5 snowflakes. The Snowman will give you Ski Theme items for getting one Bingo.

If you can't get the other items, guess what! Whatever is unavailable in your town or requires building a perfect snow person will be easily obtainable from the treasure hunt holidays. On the week of the Saturday before the Fishing Tourney in both January and November, Isabelle (or your first character, depending on who you use) will host a treasure hunt holiday. It starts on the Sunday of the same week of the second Saturday of the month (assuming that the Fishing Tourney is on the third Saturday). It lasts for seven days. It's just like the Acorn Festival in Wild World.

During the holiday, treasure chests will be buried all over the town. When you dig one up, you have to open the chest to get the loot. The treasures could be:

  • Gold coins (a whole bunch from one chest counts as one)
  • Gems (a whole bunch from one chest counts as one)
  • Golden statue
  • Diamond

All of them can act as furniture pieces, but they do not show up in your catalog. And Reese will pay a lot for some of the treasures if sold at Re-Tail. However, they are better for the holiday than for making Bells.

To get a series item, you have to give away a treasure piece to your town's mayor (or Isabelle if your mayor is the character you're using). Each time you give a piece of treasure to Isabelle or your mayor, you will score points. Here are the point values of each item:

  • Gold Coins - 5 points
  • Gems - 10 points
  • Golden Statue - 20 points
  • Diamond - 50 points

The more points each is worth, the rarer the item is. There are 50 treasures buried daily. The more you dig up, the more that will appear the next day. But there can be no more than 50 buried objects in town a day (if they are treasure chests).

The series furniture can be bought from Redd, who has his event tent set up (like on Fireworks Festival and New Year's). Some furniture costs more points than others. Each time you get a piece, you earn a new series item, but you lose points.

To get the theme items, you have to get one of each treasure. Instead of giving them to the host, you give them to Redd. He will pack up all four unique treasures into a treasure chest. Give the chest to the host, and he/she (depending on the mayor's gender or whom you use) will give you a theme item. The theme item is random.

Here are the associated collections to months:

January - the furniture series items you can win are exclusively Ice Series items. The Ski Theme items are the theme furniture pieces you can win. In the Desert Biome, the Snowman Series and Winter Village Theme are your prizes.

November - the furniture series items you can win are exclusively Mush Series items. The Fall Forest Theme items are the theme furniture pieces you can win. In the Jungle Biome, the Snowman Series and Winter Village Theme are your prizes.
