...what would you like to see? Simple question, really.

For those who haven't watched the Switch 2 Direct yet, they announced a few Switch games that would be getting expanded editions for the next console. For instance, Mario Party Jamboree is getting an add-on that features minigames utilizing the Switch 2's peripherals, both major Zelda games (Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom) are getting 4K graphical upgrades and a GPS feature for the Switch mobile app, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land is getting a new story add-on. If New Horizons were to receive this treatment instead of a straight-up new title announcement, what would you like to see?

Reactions: Doo
Models for the deep-sea creatures
Golden tools being unbreakable
Bringing back crossover amiibo items and villagers like Legend of Zelda or the Nooklings fortune cookie prizes

Mini games I'm sure would show up. You can't say no to that with the mouse function and nintendo's new focus on multiplayer connection through the NOS, Chat, and Camera they are pushing.
I don't know if they will make it to where you would go to a special island, or if they would integrate it into the happy home designer island or not.

absolutely some kind of Tortimer-Island-esque minigames would be at the top of my list, like nightglow described. it would work so well with the GameChat system! I would adore an addition like that. I truly dont expect an expansion, unfortunately. but maybe it's something to potentially look forward to for the next installment in the franchise! I have to add, I'd also love some kind of implementation for the mouse aspect. I'm trying to think of what kind of cool feature it would entail. I can't seem to come up with anything though, so I think if they did anything with it it'd be novel. 😌

I say bring back the New Leaf mini game island. With the chat and camera gimmick that Nintendo are pushing it makes since for the mini games and they can sell it as deluxe edition with the new island as dlc. Come on Nintendo wants money so why not.

I want a lot more expanded dialogue between previous games, and more variety to personality interactions in general. Also just expanded furniture from NL and such. A variety in music would be awesome too, like adding some WW and NL music as possibilities. Having a shop upgrade with multiple levels would be cool, with extra furniture to buy and NPCs permanently there would be fun too

Nope not gonna happen. I will play around with it though. If it does get one I would hope a town-themed island with more perks (like Gracie Grace and maybe new characters and shops). Maybe also a mine island where we can mind infinite gold and the other ores that were introduced in NL.

I'd like more nook shop upgrades and maybe perfect fruit to come back! Or the alternative fruits that didn't make it here from new leaf

I would prefer that they instead focus on a new installment rather than try to improve New Horizons.

If this were to happen, though, for the sake of the hypothetical:

- Allow us to bulk buy items instead of one at a time. Introduce a shopping cart so you can grab everything you want. The way it's set up now is just an artificial way to keep you invested longer and is just kind of an annoying time sink.

- Make the Golden Tools unbreakable. Why even bother crafting them in the base game other than aesthetics?

- Give the rooms in our player houses full expansions instead of the pitifully small rooms you get in the base game. I'm an interior design sort of player and was deeply disappointed with that aspect. Happy Home Paradise allows me to use my creativity in those big 10x10 rooms if I so choose, but then I go back home to my island and the rooms are so small and restrictive in comparison.

- Bring back Perfect Fruit. Perfect Apple would've looked nice in New Horizons and I chose an island with Apples as the native fruit, not knowing that perfect fruit wasn't a feature until later.

- Bring back Club Tortimer or introduce some other mini-games/multiplayer functionality. There's nothing to do with people unless you really go out of your way and get creative like the TBT Staff do with the obstacle course they did once and the hide-and-seek sessions.

This 100%. I never decorated my house partially because of frustration with the size.

I want most of the items from NL — it doesn’t have to even include Welcome Amiibo stuff (if it did, that’s a bonus). I miss the gracie grace stuff and 7-11 set. I noticed some clothes and furniture were recycled into something different and different color variations and honestly, I thought those looked bad compared to what we got in NL and HHD.

I want crankier crankies again, snobbier snooties. The New Horizons dialogue felt really watered down and more repetitive than NL; NL’s got repetitive but I always enjoyed the dialogue no matter how many times I heard it since there was more personality to it. Also, get rid of the lazy bug talk.

I probably can think of more, but this and what Hallo said are my main wants.

Probably not going to happen but there are a few things I would love to see.

Being able to place small and medium rugs outside especially the seasonal ones. Being able to place wall items on cliffs like we can vines and ladders. I think some would look better outside.

Being able pick what rooms and how big you want them for your house. Maybe be able to make villagers houses just a little bigger so that partitions are easier to use.

More fruits and vegetables and more of the plant items from new leaf. Would love more colors for flowers.

Mini games to play with friends and villagers.

Reese having a job . It would be nice if she could customize wallpaper and flooring to match the furniture that Cyrus can customize.

Fix gold tools so they no longer break.
Being able to customize more of the DIY’s. I love the mermaid furniture and with it being DIY I was hoping we could change the color of them.

Some changes to dialogue to make it more interactive. Example would be if they ask you a question you can actually answer them instead of them just walking away.

honestly i would be pretty disappointed if that’s what we get for the next entry into animal crossing. i don’t think i would end up getting it.

it would have to be a significant amount of content like reworked crafting and decorating UI for the exteriors of our islands. i also think we’d need to have a new story mode like maybe we can have a second location we can travel back and forth from, but at that point it’d make more sense to start from scratch with a new title.

the ability to buy clothes in bundles at the Able-sister store.
so if you want all ( let's say 7 ) colors of a shirt, you can just select how many, and of which colors you want to buy each clothing items ( including hats, things you wear on your face, such as glasses, masks, and miscelanious, socks, and shoes.

the ability to see if you already have a certain item in your inventory/house, in the nookling store phone app, so even if you lost a shirt/table/craftable/other, you can just see it's NOT in your inventory and/or house, and just rebuy it, instead of having to go 1 by 1 for each thing making sure.

the ability to ask villagers if they ever wanted to leave the island ( so you can move them a little easier instead of having to get lucky with randomness, of having to use an Amiibo.

these things come to mind.
i would call these some quality of life updates, that the game ( IMO ) desperately needs.
