If the update comes on Thursday night...

If we're actually able to download the update on Thursday night, I was thinking a lot of things may not be available. For example, the Shop, Tailor, and Nook Stop will have already generated its selection for the day right? I think I remember that when the swimming update came I had to wait one extra day to buy the wetsuit because I had already played that morning and the shop was generated.

Now I'm wondering...if we don't play at all on Thursday.. then download the update... THEN load up our games for the first time that day.. maybe we will have a higher chance of having access to new items right away? What do you think?

I doubt even if we get the update early we wouldn't be able to access all of the newly added stuff until 5am (Wherever you are) in real time. If I recall this correctly, this is how the previous updates has worked and it's likely it'll do it again.

I mean, shop stocks and stuff will already be done before the update. But I don't see how we'd have less of a chance to get new items on Friday if we don't play until Friday? Besides, some things will still be doable- we can probably buy and plant crops, head out with Kapp'n, probably talk to Harvey about his plans for his island, buy Nook Stop items, etc.

I'm, like, 99.9% sure that hasn't been how it's worked, and that I've been able to enjoy updates the night before. Some events aren't unlocked until then, but I believe updates drop worldwide at the same time.

What they mean is, if you load up on Thursday, your shop's stock is already decided for Thursday, period. You cannot change what is available in Nook's then without TTing to the next day, and you can't go backwards from there to regenerate it.

That said, to answer your question OP —
It's a possibility, yes. I've seen people saying don't play on Thursday at all until the update drops, if it will drop in your time zone at a time before Nook's closes for the night, or you're willing to TT.
Otherwise, there's no point in waiting.

Thank you, I had a feeling I wrote that in a confusing way, lol. I think I'm gonna try that then and see what happens. It's not a big deal either way, I'm just curious to see what happens if I generate my save for the day after the update is live.
