Seeing that really bugs me. I don't know why, but it does. I love to help people but my line of thought forces me to skip threads where the OP is desperate to get an item. Its a game.
What are your thoughts on the subject?

Shows they'd appreciate it more than normal. I don't see the problem as long as their attitudes still in check.

If you really want something, just say that. Especially when you're not willing to pay extra for it. That happens all too often. "I'm not willing to give any more than normal, but I'M desperate. Help me." Regardless of how its written, I feel a bad attitude almost every time they use that word.

Well, I don't think they should have to pay more than normal for a particular item. If I was selling an item, I'd feel like I was taking advantage of them if I asked for more because I knew they were desperate.

Now, if they were trying to get someone to pity them so they can pay a lower price or pay nothing at all, then that would be irritating.

When someone's looking for something, I'm more than happy to just let them catalog or I'll even order it and hand it to them for free. But what I left in the quote up there, that's exactly what I feel like is taking place.

If they are really desperate about them you can easily tell. If you reaaaaaally want it you'll probably overpay. The problem comes with the guys that doesnt get what they want in the way they wanted and are like "meh, your loss" they really annoy me.

Ehh, definitions get watered down over time, that's just how language works. We say that we love things that we only like, we use the word amazing and awesome as adjectives for things that are neither.

That said, when I see that someone is claiming to be "desperate" for something in ACNL, I don't believe them. It's virtual dollhouse furniture/doll clothes- you can't actually be desperate for it, sorry. ^ ^

That's pretty annoying too, I agree. "Here, I have the Noodle Shirt you're looking for. Either trade an unorderable DLC or 1 mil. No? Too high? Too bad." Are you kidding me right now.

That's a pretty valid point. I don't love Gardetto's. I really like them. Language is ever-evolving, unfortunately.

That was beautifully written.

yup, its more like a figure of speech

That saying always bugs me. I see it as homeless people are desperate for food, you can't be desperate from some dumb piece of furniture in a video game.
