Here's a cute picture I took of all the Sanrio characters. They look so good in this game! Etoile is my favorite though.

I've decided I'm even going to give Rilla a turn on my island, although she probably won't be permanent. I feel bad for her because everyone hates her when really she's just a sweet kawaii loving girl. I can even relate to her a little bit.

I'm 5'9" and have always hated how tall I am. I'm also very shy, and kinda clumsy, and feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. I would always see other girls wearing cute clothes or shoes, but I never felt like they looked good on me. Trust me... really cute shoes no longer look very cute when they're size 11, lol.
I think Rilla is comfortable in her own skin and is kind of inspiring in that way.

My only issue is that she feels like she was misplaced. She'd have fit the other villager styles better than the one she was given in my opinion. It's good you're giving her a home though!
 
Aw, i find her cute in her own unique way. So funny, too.

"What do I weigh? Around 200 apples or so!" She's too much.

I need a peppy resident so I was waiting for the update to scan in Chai, but this morning I was thinking of Rilla instead.

I don't think I can resist!
 
huh. to be honest, i’ve never been a fan of the gorillas and rilla was no exception but she’s actually kind of cute?? i probably won’t be able to get my hands on the sanrio cards until like,, 2030 lmao but when i do, i think i’ll give her a chance, too. ❤️

I feel like we're probably harsher on ourselves than we need to be sometimes. And I've come to realize that there are many girls/women who feel like they're too short. I think everyone should just try to be happy in their skin and enjoy what they like :)

I had never noticed that before I scanned her in, but it's pretty cute and unique!

Aww I'm so glad you gave her a chance! And you guys look cute twinning it up! That's quote about her weight was hilarious, lol. I couldn't resist scanning Etoile first, because she's one of my favorite villagers ever, but I'm looking forward to scanning Rilla next!

Gorillas are my least favorite design, but she really is much nicer looking than the others. I think her personality and hello kitty fangirl will just add to her appeal. I'm happy to hear you're thinking about giving her a chance!

Hopefully when the cards release at Target next week they won't be so rare and hard to find this time. My husband works there and said there's several boxes full in the backroom.

I don't disagree that she doesn't "fit" and I can see how Hello Kitty fans would be disappointed that they chose a GORILLA to represent the main character, lol.

But I just think all of that just adds to the message she represents about not having to look small and cute to enjoy wearing cute things.
 
I think my main problem with rilla is that she is ugly. Why is she ugly? It's not because she's trying to wear nice things. It's because she has no fashion sense what so ever and picked an outfit and make up that does not compliment her skin tones and facial/ body structure.

I'm sure if she went to a stylist she could come out looking very cute and retain her hello kitty fan look.

Step 1 for example. buy a shirt that actually fits. The picture on the shirt is warped. It's not your size rilla
 
I feel like I'm kind of the opposite here from most people. I actually like most gorilla designs (Violet and Boone being my favorites) but Rilla is one of my least favorites of the gorillas. I think the lips kind of throw me off a little. I wish they chose a color/shape that wasn't so flesh colored and wide. I think Violet strikes a good balance with having lipstick that doesn't cover the whole mouth for the gorilla design.

Otherwise, I do think her design is nice. My favorite detail are the little blue earrings on her ears.

But! I do commend the designers for choosing a species that is less popular. Gorillas need more love in general and they're a great bunch if you give them a chance.
 
I'm super glad some people are giving her a chance! Tbh she's pretty cute but I think it's the Hello Kitty shirt that isn't doing her any favours. I would love to see her in some other outfits!
 
She's cute! I don't have the card for NH but I'm currently having her on PC. I tried a lilac shirt on her and I think she looks great :D
