Resident Night Mare
Sorry, brain totally flaked on a blog title this morning. I'll probably go back later and change it.
Another sunny morning in Hollowyn. I got to chat with K.K. Slider in The Roost yesterday. I had the place to myself this morning, though, because both Lolly and Pekoe were running around with shovels.
Out of the fossils I dug up, one was a new one that Blathers coveted, one was a random repeat, and two were for the Apato skeleton. I figured I'd keep those and start working on fossil models. Not sure where I'll put them, but that's a worry for another time.
Lolly managed to snag my turquoise before I was able to sell it. Me and my inability to say no to the villagers. I got a computer in trade for it.
Redd had a couple of sculptures and one painting. The real one (thank you online guides that tell you what to look for!) was the discus thrower statue. I'll be able to put that in the Museum tomorrow.
I have figured out what my houses will all be themed, though. Emerald's (my mayor) will likely be a more traditional house. Once I get my HHA awards, I'll go more eclectic in the decor, but I do know I want one room to be a witch's kitchen/spell area. Possibly the back room.
Sapphire will have a craft shop. Different rooms will be devoted to different crafts - textile, painting, pottery, etc. The main room will be the store area/display and the side rooms for studios. Duplicate paintings (eventually) would look nice to decorate the walls. Also, I think I'll make or snag QR codes for some quilt patterns to hang. I know I want the loom, sewing machines, the spinning wheel, and will probably snag some towels from Blanca this April Fool's Day for folded fabric (a tip from another member here). I'll give the top floor as her apartment living space.
Flint is going to run a bookstore with a café. Not sure if I'll devote an entire room to that or just an area, but I'll probably get some poster stands to serve as markers for different genre of bookshelves. Lots of couches and chairs, low tables, maybe a fireplace in the café area, and plenty of lighting will make each room inviting. Again, upstairs would be his living area.
As for Jett, I'm still working on him. Possibly a witch school. Not like Hogwarts, but more like the kitchen witch style that I practice. One room could be a classroom, and he'd probably get the back room or basement as his living area, so I could make the top floor a conservatory space. I'll probably leave him until the last house to finish, so I can really decide what I want him to be.
All this is thinking out loud, because I still haven't built any side/back rooms on my mayor's house yet, but if I don't write it down somewhere, I'll totally forget.
Not much else today. Still on the hunt for Lolly's birthday present. If need be, I can order a pair of green buckled shoes, but I'm waiting for something a little better to come up. Off to the Nooklings and Able Sisters!
