This is my second fact entry (and the first one in a while). Up to this entry, all of my mainstream categories should have at least two entries. I will give out more facts about stuff. This time, it will be about the calendar and the arrangements.
If you read the calendar, you should realize that the calendar arrangements change every year. Since 52 weeks exactly equals 364 days while a year has 365 (366 on the leap years), each date column switches days of the week. There are seven date columns in the calendar. I will name them all:
Some holidays are not on fixed dates but are always on the same day of the week. For example, Christmas is on a fixed date (December 25th), but Easter is always on a Sunday. Therefore, Christmas will stay on Column 2, but Easter changes date columns yearly. That's why there are interesting facts about each arrangement as well. There are plenty, but I will name only 5 per arrangement.
Calendar Arrangement 1 - Every common year that begins on a Sunday. Basically, the days of the week match the date columns entirely.
Facts:
Calendar Arrangement 2 - Every common year that begins on a Monday. The first Sunday of the year is January 7th.

Calendar Arrangement 3 - Every common year that begins on a Tuesday. The first Sunday of the year is January 6th.

Calendar Arrangement 4 - Every common year that begins on a Wednesday. The first Sunday of the year is January 5th.

Calendar Arrangement 5 - Every common year that begins on a Thursday. The first Sunday of the year is January 4th.

If you read this blog entry, you will begin to realize that your birthday is on the same day of the week as another holiday. From my town of StarFall (if you read the StarFall Journal), Kaylee's birthday (10/1) is on the same day of the week as New Year's Day. Jenny's birthday (11/6) is on the same day of the week as Christmas. Penny's birthday (12/5) is on the same day of the week as Halloween. You can see why I picked those dates their birthdays are on to be their birthdays. What holiday is on the same day of the week is your birthday on?

- Column 1 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 1st (January 2nd during a leap year). This is where New Year's Day is located. Also home to Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Another fact: Mayor Kaylee of StarFall has a birthday on this date column - October 1st.
- Column 2 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 2nd (January 3rd during a leap year). My birthday (February 13th) is part of this date column. Other notable events are first day of spring, 9/11, and Christmas.
- Column 3 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 3rd (January 4th during a leap year). Valentine's Day, 4th of July, and Halloween are all part of this date column.
- Column 4 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 4th (January 5th during a leap year). During a common year, three months begin on the same day of the week, and are on this column. First day of summer is also on this column.
- Column 5 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 5th (January 6th during a leap year). Groundhog's Day and the first day of winter are both on this date column.
- Column 6 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 6th (January 7th during a leap year). St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo are on this date column, and so is the day I written this blog entry (September 22nd).
- Column 7 - any date that is on the same day of the week as January 7th (January 1st during a leap year). April Fool's Day, first day of fall, and Earth Day are all part of this date column.
Calendar Arrangements:
Calendar Arrangement 1 - Every common year that begins on a Sunday. Basically, the days of the week match the date columns entirely.
Facts:
- 9/11 is one week after Labor Day.
- There are two Friday the 13ths. One of them lands in October, the month of Halloween.
- Mother's Day is at its latest time possible.
- The date column with the least amount of major events will be on the day of the week with the most events (Column 1 on Sunday).
- Cinco de Mayo is the fifth day of the workweek.
Calendar Arrangement 2 - Every common year that begins on a Monday. The first Sunday of the year is January 7th.
Facts:

- Martin Luther King Day, Columbus Day, and Thanksgivings Day are at their earliest times possible (1/15, 10/8, and 11/22 respectively). Also, Martin Luther King Day is on MLK's actual birthday.
- Veteran's Day is a week after the day Daylight Savings time ends.
- Good Friday has a possibility of being on Friday the 13th. If so, I wouldn't call it "Good Friday" if I were you (unless if Friday the 13th isn't bad at all).

- Friday the 13th is in June, which is one week after the sixth day of the sixth month as the sixth day of the week (6-6-6). Coincidentally, Halloween is also on that same day of the week.
- The two consecutive date columns with a transition day (when seasons change) are both on the weekends, giving a weekly pattern (starting with Sunday) where every column after the column with at least one transition day doesn't have any transition days.
Calendar Arrangement 5 - Every common year that begins on a Thursday. The first Sunday of the year is January 4th.
Facts:
- This is the calendar arrangement of a common year with 3 Friday the 13ths, the most from any arrangement. Two of them come from the months where clocks get adjusted for Standard Time or Daylight time. Not to mention, but 9/11 is also a Friday.
- In addition to the three Friday the 13ths, they all have a major holiday in the same month. Valentine's Day is after one Friday the 13th, St Patrick's day is four days after the next Friday the 13th, and the other Friday the 13th is equidistant between Halloween and Thanksgivings.
- Daylight Savings Time begins at the earliest time possible. It also ends at the earliest time possible.
- Labor Day and Father's Day are at their latest times possible. Also, Father's Day is the first day of summer.

- Mother's Day is at its earliest time possible.
- Columbus Day is on the same day of the week as Halloween.
- Spring begins one week after Daylight Savings Time.
