So a few months ago I scanned in an amiibo card of Gruff because I only had 8 villagers and didn’t want any random move-ins. Unfortunately I was busy the next day and forgot about it, so he moved his house onto a REALLY crappy plot. I scanned another villager in so I could reach 10 and have been patiently waiting (with minimal TTing) for him to ask to move out, but he never has. I’ve read rumors that amiibo villagers never move out naturally, but I’ll get to that later.
My current issue is that I recently acquired an amiibo for a villager that I really like. I decided to kick Gruff out and replace him with this other villager, but little did I know that amiibo villagers will only place their house in the EXACT SAME SPOT as the previous one. I did the plot reset trick probably 30 times and the new villager’s house placement NEVER moved from that spot, despite having multiple open spaces in town. I gave up on plot resetting and accepted my fate, so I time traveled back to the current day and Gruff is... back in boxes for some reason? I’ve never had this happen because to my understanding time traveling backward has the same affect on your town as traveling forward.
Because of this weird thing that happened (him still being in boxes after TTing), is it possible for me to CANCEL Gruff being kicked out by the other amiibo villager (and wait for him to move out naturally) by re-scanning his card or the new villager’s card?? Or am I stuck with every single amiibo moving into that same crappy spot for all eternity? I’m not sure what to do, this is nearly game breaking for me since I don’t want any more villagers to ever move into that spot but I can’t kick anyone else out because the rest of my town is my dreamies.
Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do??
TLDR; can you change your mind about kicking out an amiibo villager by re-scanning their amiibo card, and if not, how is it possible to keep the new amiibo villager from moving into the exact same spot as the old one? They place their house plot immediately after the other villager moves out, so there’s no time to place patterns/PWPs. I’ve googled this question using multiple phrases and haven’t found anything.
