Is it worth it going to the nook islands looking for favorite villagers?

A villager moved out so there's a free spot in my town, so I checked the islands to look for some villagers. I've been to 4 so far and I've not seen one villager I liked.. So now I kinda feel like it's a waste of nook tickets.. What do you think, have you done the same thing and gained success? It's ironic because my first ever nook trip, I found my absolute favorite villager and I couldn't believe it

I've gotten super lucky with this. I say keep trying. You never know, you could see someone you like eventually.

It probably depends on how many you like... it's easy to go 50 islands without one you like.

I personally think it’s worth it if you have the patience and nook miles! I went to about 5 islands before I found one of my Dreamies, stitches, and 3-5 islands after I also found Chèvre! Diana isn’t a dreamie of mine but I found her on an island as well and I figured I could trade her for another dreamie later on ^^
It’s really satisfying IMO when you stumble upon a dreamie haha! But there are so many villagers, just keep in mind it could still take awhile.

I'll try a few more then *u* I like a good handful of villagers, but there's also many I don't mind, the ones I've met so far has been ones I literally hated haha

I'd say it's probably more worth going with the mindset 'get anyone who is decently popular' rather than 'just look for dreamies'. Your chances of getting your exact dreamies are slim, but it's a good investment to nab any other popular villagers to trade later on.

Very much depends on your luck. I found a lot of horrible villagers on the islands multiple times, but persisted through them all and found my top 2 dreamies. (Cyd and Raymond)
I didn't think I'd find either of them, but I found both, and I'm usually a very unlucky person.

If you have Nook Mile tickets to spare, I say keep trying :) Even if you don't find a villager you like, you still have the chance to find hybrid islands, tarantula islands, islands with DIY bottles, etc. These things can still make island trips worth it.

If you still need other items from the Nook Mile machines then I'd get those first, then spend the rest on tickets.
Good luck!

I'm not going in with the mindset of finding my dreamies, because I know the chances are slim, I just want to find someone who is okay for now hahah, still no luck but I have like 70k nook miles so I should. Just don't wanna spend my entire evening on this xd I'll update

I'd say keep trying. I'm delighted with the six I found and invited. You can stock up while your there too, I strip my excursion islands of everything!

It's really a gamble. I'm not into gambling because I have horrible luck (though I did find one of my favorites on an island, yay vesta). Some people have super great luck though.

Let me give you my experience. On my 5th and 6th island in a row, I got Bubble twice...I wanted to give up. But I said na, I am not someone who give up. On my 10th island (11th if you count the free Nook ticket), I got one of my dreamie, "Cookie"! So never give up

i only ever use nook miles islands for materials or creating tarantula island. i think that if ur using them for only hunting for a specific villager, it would be a waste of miles. if u were looking for ur favorite villagerS or popular villagers to sell/trade, then it would be more worth your time. there's almost 400 villagers in this game, so finding ur favorite will be difficult, but like others have said there are success stories. but when everyone was getting tarantula island i kept using tickets and never found it so. thats why im not a believer.

I found 2 dreamies on just about 6 tickets, but I know that some people have been to like a bazillion islands with no luck. It can definitely work but it's a gamble.

It IS a gamble, but for me it's fun to be able to see so many of the villagers' designs in game and close up, even if they aren't invited back.
That being said, I've also gotten super lucky with island villagers.
I've used maybe 30 ish tickets total, and found lots of duds, but also Fauna, Stitches, Tia, Zucker, Marina, and most recently, Fang, who I found and promptly invited to my island last night after 3 tickets.

Keep trying! It can pay off!

It definitely can be, i moved Audie out then went to an island and got Ankha, might be luck or good karma but im fine with whatever lol

i would say you should eventually have a cut-off point for yourself so you don't go mad if you don't find your dreamies, but i agree with others it's always fun to see villager designs upclose and the feeling of finding a dreamy can be so satisfying

Yes but it's purely based on luck so if you are looking for very specific characters then be prepared to spend quite a lot of those tickets just to find them

Yes. I just found Audie and she is a dreamie of mine. Have a few in mind that you’re looking for, because I was mainly searching for these two (Raymond and Audie) myself so I didn’t have to cough up 1,000 tickets each.
