This question has bugged me for months. Is poke bank worth it?
I need to transfer legendary pokemons from 2018 event down from my Pokemon Ultra moon game to Pokemon Sun
i know its $6.50 aud (i live in australia)

It depends on how many Pok?mon you need to transfer, and whether or not you have someone you know who can lend you another 3DS, or you have an online friend you trust who can help you (you trade to them from one game, then they trade back to you on the other game). If it's just a few Pok?mon and you have someone who can help you directly or by lending you their 3DS, I'd just do it that way, but if you need to transfer a lot of Pok?mon, I'd get it.

I have like a few boxes filled with pokemon.. so should i?

Pok?mon Bank has proven itself to be a more than worthwhile investment for me for as long as I've been subscribed to it.

The service has distributed a fair number of rare or otherwise previously unobtainable Pok?mon for people with a subscription; past distributions have included Celebi, starter Pok?mon with their Hidden Abilities (Meganium, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina), Pok?mon with Hidden Abilities otherwise unobtainable (Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Oranguru, and Passimian), and an otherwise unobtainable Mewnium Z, a Z-Crystal that allows Mew to perform a special Z-Move called Genesis Supernova. Most of those are long finished since they were limited time distributions, though you can still get Oranguru and Passimian with their Hidden Abilities if you have a subscription to the Pok?mon Bank between March 28 - October 31, 2019.

Additionally, you can be awarded Battle Points for keeping Pok?mon stored in the Bank for a long period of time. This is good because you can use Battle Points to purchase rare items or learn certain moves from Move Tutors. This feature might be a little less useful in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon because you can very easily earn Battle Points from Mantine Surf. It's more useful in older games like Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire if you want to teach your Pok?mon certain Move Tutor moves or buy certain items but don't want to grind out battles at the Battle Maison.

It really depends on the person and their needs and interests. You might not have as much use for it as other people will. For your stated need I'd say it would probably be worth it if you have the money to spare. It would simply be much easier and faster than trading your boxes back and forth with someone else.

Do be aware though that some Pok?mon are Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon exclusive and cannot be sent down to the ordinary Sun & Moon. Stuff like Poipole, Zeraora, and other new additions can't be traded to the previous versions. If they're legends that were available in games prior to Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon it should be fine though.

If you have a few boxes filled with Pok?mon you need to transfer, I would definitely go for it, even just as a one time thing to transfer them all. Pok? Bank would basically allow you to transfer them all at once - it's similar to moving around Pok?mon in your boxes in the game, the only thing that takes time is loading initially and saving when you're done - vs. having to transfer them all individually through trading after you've also possibly had to catch extra Pok?mon to trade over.

you got a lot of pokemon to trade so i also agree it's worth it, it would be too annoying and time consuming if you had to trade them all one by one >.<
unless it doesn't bother you of course. But i think it's just a matter of convenience, as it will allow you to trade as many pokemon as you want and whenever you want, so that's pretty much what you should think whether you need!

I wouldn't dream of getting it unless Pokemon could hold items.
Or they could just provide more boxes in-game..

I mean the cost is practically nothing to begin with

wait what

shame I use held items to keep track of shinymons, otherwise this would be very useful to me

This thread again lol. But yeah if you have both gen 6 and 7 games that you play on, definitely. And they give out free event 'mons now and then as well it still seems so. I wouldn't get for just one game though unless you desperately need boxes but that's me.

I would say it’s worth it if you have Pok?mon you’d like to transfer. I’ve used it and bought a new pass a couple of times now. You can always just not buy a new pass when you don’t find yourself using it anymore. I didn’t renew my pass last year for example as I have all the Pok?mon I want in each game now.
