I'm trying to finish a second series 5 set for a younger relative and just got back from Target. The employee I spoke to said they don't carry them anymore. I check online and all the Target stores in my area say they're no longer available, where before they would just say out of stock. On my wishlist at the nintendo online store, the entry for the pack of series 5 item has been scrubbed. I know I prob. won't find production answers here, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same?

Well I know its hard to find these cards because you know scalpers tend to over charge them online. Last year in December I was able to get a pack of Series 5 cards but they were in small cards that were basically 3rd party versions and I can confirm they do work. If you ask how much I spent it was around $54.99 on Amazon. Expensive I know but, I had to take the risk in buying it and it worked out good.

Just becareful before you buy them because some of them don't have any reviews. Its best look at the reviews before you even buy it. I heard some people got scammed where they got the Series 5 pack but it turned out to be a different back that didn't match. So your best luck is to find a seller who has honest reviews and make sure they are selling the pack you want. There is no easy answer to this since it is hard to find them legit. So hope this helps.

Its just like when Welcome amiibo came out, Nintendo made a VERY small batch of them and sent them out and I do not think they will restock, they might though! I only got 4 packs and I get them online and on release my Nanna wen tto 4 Targets and all of them said they either did not get any cards or only 10 packs. Sad release but thats just how they do it with Amiibo's. Lets hope for a restock! Series 5 is my only series where I am missing half of the cards. ALL BEING SP'S. I easily got all of the normal cards because the ones I didnt get I just bought them off ebay. I hope they restock!! They always sell out so fast everywhere. I think there is hope because the UK my nintendo store currently has the Series 5 Binder for sale only 7.99 Pounds and its obviously going to be going for $100+ on Ebay because when the original binders came out look at the prices now. Series 1-4 albums are now 100 - 400 dollars FOR ONE ALBUM

Your smarter than me lol Atleast you can get everything from the cards, I am not allowed to buy the fake ones because my mothers says their illegal, I also have a problem where I think Nintendo will bust down my door if I buy something fake. I am happy they work! One of my friends bought the fake ones of series 1-4 and got all the posters :) :D

Like others have said, I think scalpers combined with limited quantities to begin with have prevented many people from being able to buy them. I myself got so fed up with trying to find series 5 amiibo cards that I bought some fake ones on Etsy (a bit pricey but they work perfectly). It’s a shame that those who actually want them have to pay exorbitant prices because some people are so greedy. 😔

Thats disappointing. I was hoping it would be available for longer. I wont be paying scalpers anything. Ill try my best to find at least the villager cards at fair rates but if not Ill probably just get him a custom coin set from etsy.

Yeah, its very sad :( I have just a few left to complete my sets but Nintendo only restocks them in Japan and the UK and they do not ship to USA. Even then, the UK reprints are few and far in between. JPN has them ALL THE TIME. I am very sad because back in 2015 they were so easy to find! Maybe oneday they will restock. At the moment the best thing to do is buy the fakes of Etsy or buy from someone like hossjoeadam on ebay.

I refuse to buy them from scalpers. If I had money I would buy them from Japan. I think I should just accept I won't have more....

I couldn't find any in my area either except for overpriced ones online. Since I'm only interested in their actual amiibo function and not their collectability, I ordered some coin style ones from etsy. Super cute and only in the $3-$4 range, depending on how many you order. The ones I got have the face on one side and the name/personality/birthday on the other side. I ordered 20 and have tested 11 so far and all work perfectly.

If anyone is interested, the vendor I bought from is called SisterskiStudios. They shipped quickly and like I said, the product was really cute.

This angers me so much ! On the day of the release of these cards, I traveled more than 100 km to visit 6 GameStop boutique (in Canada). They had a limit of 2 packs per customer. But I only got around to buy 5 of them because the last one I visited was already out of stock.

Then, Nintendo never shipped new stocks in-store in Canada. Not at Bestbuy, not at GameStop, not anywhere. So I'm left with an incomplete set ! Way to go NoA for screwing a die-hard fan over like this.

They do this with almost every series in the US, UK and other provinces other than UK and Japan :( (I am not saying that UK gets alot im just saying they restock VERY VERY VERY frequently. Even the japanese store has NEVER gone out of stock with series 1 - welcome amiibo and I think even series 5 ever. They are always and currently instock but sadly no shipping to USA or anywhere else, Nintendo automatically cancels orders with forwarding services unless you get VERY lucky 😭)

I invite everyone that reads this topic to lodge a complaint at Nintendo of America :
1 (855) 548-4693

I called and the agent told me they can receive complaints and feedback comments he then passes onto Nintendo's management. So I explained to him that Nintendo produced very little stocks of Animal Crossing amiibo Series 5 cards, and I thanked him for his time. It did not take me 10 minutes, and I feel it's time well spent if we can get the message across to NoA's management.

It would have been better had Nintendo manufactured all 48 of the Series #05 amiibo cards in one entire box. Charge, say, $49.99. Limit one box for each customer in retail and online stores. And, of course, Nintendo should have manufactured millions more of these amiibo cards.

I will say something that may not please people.

I consider this to be Nintendo’s flawed business model. It manages to create resentment. It’s like an an old phrase: “There’s no thing such as bad publicity.” These amiibo cards brought millions more to Nintendo.

I looked for so long and never got any. I kept checking for preorders(had it pop up twice at best buy and then disappear before I could finish the purchase). I have checked my local walmart a few times but they dont have any amiibos of any kind and never got any in the first place. Target ticked me off because when I looked on the site the listing was hidden for some reason. I could only find it on the target app and only when someone here shared the link(and even then none available online or in store). It's beyond ridiculous how hard it is for the fans to get them(and how easy it is for the scalpers). I bought fan made sanrio cards and a few fan made coins of villagers I wanted. I know there are people on ebay selling the full 48 card series 5 fan made set(thats all the villagers and the npcs). As previously mentioned do check reviews. I bought mine on etsy. I did have a problem with 2 not working and the seller sent me new ones right away. Again check reivews there too. I'm not sure if anyone there has a full set listing but they usually have listings for 10 or so for a set price and usually the more you buy the more you save and some will give some free ones for larger orders or a random free one). If you only need a handful to complete the set etsy would be a good option.

Funny enough, yesterday when I went I saw Sanrio cards fully stacked. Those seem to be old news now and at least in my area they're very easy to get now compared to when they were first released. Im hoping the same will happen with series 5? It just seems kind of ridiculous that nintendo would promote these everywhere and only have them in production for less than two months when NH is the Switch's second most popular game??

Same. Also from Canada, I just managed to get 5 packs on the first day and that's all. 5 dupes In the last pack. What about casual buyers that buy them for their kids to chew? Isn't a popular game? I thought they would re-stock at least for Christmas.

It seems that the typical stores that were selling them where I am, are out of stock as well... I'm really sad because I was hoping to complete the series since there aren't that many cards. They have been out of stock for me for a while... I bought some when they first released and then I wasn't able to get anymore.

I'm gonna be really sad if they never come back. It wouldn't make sense for them to do that, because series 1-4 are available and so are the sanrio cards.

Whats crazy is that when they first released Amazon sold the Booster boxes of 18 packs and 108 cards for all series. They never did this for Welcome Amiibo though. They were all $99.99. I remember during a black friday sale though they were each 60 DOLLARS FOR A WHOLE BOX. I remember wanting them so bad but I had spent the last of my money on a Wii U game. I wish they would still do this. Now a whole box is atleast 400 dollars on ebay or amazon. DO NOT BUY THE 200 DOLLAR SERIES 2 BOX ON AMAZON. I REPEAT DO NOT. People will open the packs and reseal them. Lots of reviews say that half of the box was dupes. But I just wished Nintendo knew how to deal with these cards :( Like Pokemon cards are always available....
