I mean, it's only $15 soooo...the price is right. But should I bother? I've never really played Harvest Moon (and I've read the series has gotten steadily worse over the years; that's why I'm not even entertaining the idea of getting the one for the Switch), and since I love AC (obviously), enjoy Sims and other games like that, would I enjoy this? Or at least play it enough to get my money's worth?

Maybe so! If you plan to buy it on PC there are mods which are really cool!
But the game in itself is very cool too. I really like how every character in the town has its very own routine for each day/season.
It's a very relaxing game with kind of a lot of things to do!
I really liked the "collecting all kinds of objects to form sets and unlock new areas/things" aspect of the game.
The music is also AMAZING and put you in the mood.
I think $15 is very much reasonable for the game. I've seen other games twice as bad with double the price.
I also think that there's a multiplayer option, which seems very cool! Haven't tried though.

Honestly, you had me at the music being amazing. I listened to some tracks on YouTube, and you're absolutely right! Downloading the game now.

Hope you enjoy it. It took me a few hours of gameplay to really get immersed in it but now I'm hooked. (,: It's a really fun game once you have some good money rolling in imo.

As a fan of all of the games you listed above (The Sims, Animal Crossing & the older Harvest Moons) I really enjoyed Stardew Valley! I loved building my farm up, getting to know all of the characters, and just the general vibe of the game. It’s well worth the cheap price tag in my opinion. If you’re interested in playing multiplayer though, know that there’s no local co-op; everyone needs to have their own Switch to play.

P.S.: I dated every datable character so I could unlock every cutscene. Would recommend.

Gosh. On my unintentional hiatus from ACNL, I've just been putting hours and hours into Stardew Valley. I've played the OG game so many times and now I've started downloading mods that add way more content into the game. I'm obsessed. It's so simple, but so good and so fun. It feels like the old Harvest Moon games before they got too anime-y and tedious.

YES. It's a huge time sink though. I prefer it on PC but I suppose that's because I don't have a switch and I like modding my games
