Is it against the rules to sell this character? Or would it have to be free?

Seeing as I'm pretty sure anyone can just make them then yes I would see it not being fair to sell them, Not sure if it's against the rules tho. I see people making them for adoption on DA and you just have to draw the character to adopt them but no money or points are exchanged, Hope that helped x3

I think it is against the rules as you did not make it yourself. However, if you drew it I think it would be fine.

Yeah, I think if you just sell art that you drew it would be okay, also I would tweek the outfit a bit - winry rockbell outfit<3-
I actually made some oc's on that site and drew them on sai paint to sell originally, but I got a job and story of seasons so i've been afk from lifexD
but yeah, I would just tweek the outfit a bit, changing some colors or adding a few accessories just so its a bit more to your own design in terms of outfit
I just about finished this grill, i'm going to add more things to her before she is finished. Maybe one day I will get out story of seasons.. one day

I don't think you should attempt to sell anything you didn't make unless you use a blank base to work on and of course ask for the original artist's permission and and credit them after you've worked of the piece.

I sold adoptables on DA before, I asked for the base artist's permission, credited them and posted a link to the original piece on art description.

As Mango stated, if other people can make the same character using the dreamselfy website, then I don't see why anybody would buy it. It is also not your original design if you used pre made clothes/hair/weapons on the website, so it wouldn't be ethical to sell as an adoptable.

If you drew a character based on the generated one, then sure go for it. However, selling a generated character I would say is a definite no.
