Island/Town Resident Villagers versus HHP Vacation Home Resident Villagers Speculation

One thing I have scarcely seen speculated is how villagers we place in HHP vacation homes will function. I would for sure write them off as having the depth of the villagers in HHD; however, I feel like there is a chance there might be more to them given this is a mainline Animal Crossing series game. This is, of course, a big maybe. However, if they function more like our island villagers, just in this new locale, that would be really neat and would open up so many more slots for us to have our favorite villagers in full form.

Another thing I have been thinking of (but am doubting, because I think they would have mentioned it in the Direct) is if villagers we place in HHP vacation homes could ultimately be convinced to come take up their permanent residence on our own island?

Just some things to think about! I think we best keep expectations low, but when you have HHP connected to NH, it does bring up these questions.

I was actually thinking about this. I’m wondering if HHP residents can switch out with your island residents. I doubt it, but this would be an interesting idea since many people have to really pick and choose their villagers. I personally have tons of Amiibos of my favorite villagers, but would like to swap when I feel like it instead of constantly having to do that 3-day courting process.

This would make sense to me due to the amiibo availability issue. And it gives people more of a chance to meet other villagers and not feel like they are passing up a villager they know they like that they may not see again for a long time, for a villager they are just curious about and may not like all that much. Nintendo may just want people to acknowledge more of the other villagers that exist beyond the "same popular 20".

I don't expect the villagers at the vacation houses being much different than the ones on your own island/ find on island tours. I do think they will add more over all dialog to all villagers in general in the update. (No idea if it was mentioned in the direct or not)

I was wondering about this. I think they would be the same as in HHD but would like them to be more like the villagers on our islands. I’m having a hard to deciding on my last three villagers because I’m trying to have an all penguin island and feel bad leaving four of them out.


It would be great if we got the chance to invite villagers back to our island if we have an empty plot.
