Day 79. Well, life got really busy quickly which resulted in me waiting to post this blog, so I apologize for the delay. This week just came and went, but at least you get to read about my whole trip still, just not as it happens. So today began with a journey to beautiful Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. We meandered about the vicinity (hooray for big words) for awhile, and then we were able to tour the house. It was very interesting, especially seeing the bed George died in. Then, we watched a very cool 4D movie about the Revolutionary War which was absolutely epic! Afterwards, we ate lunch then boarded the bus. Next, we visited Arlington National Cemetary. It was very interesting and, in a way, quite a sight. 200,000 and more gravestones, all alligned, all looking the same. We got to see the tomb of the unknown soldier and the everlasting flame at the JFK gravesite. That was just a plain amazing sight. Afterwards, we went to the Iwo Jima memorial and I got to hold a marine flag in a photo in honor of my grandfather who died in World War Two (he was a marine) After learning about this memorial, we went back to the hotel to prepare for another fun evening. This night, we were going to Ford's Theatre to see a play! The play was called Liberty Smith. It was a comedy musical and I enjoyed it a ton! It was hilarious and thoroughly entertaining. If you're ever in DC, don't hesitate checking out Ford's Theatre. And that's about it for today. Tomorrow, I'll try to completely catch myself up. Don't worry, it will happen! But until then, seeya!
