Where are you Barnett? On vacation? If you were anywhere else and were following any news you would know the epic that is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm not following the hype that much and even I know this is going to be big.
I don't think there is a Wii owner in the world that doesn't have Brawl on their list! Believe it or not, this game may be harder to get than a Wii. To say that Wii owners are casual gamers is kind of ignorant if you ask me.
The Wii games with the most success are published by Nintendo. Let me name a few of them for you, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Battalion Wars II, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess...need I go on?
The Wii, being the most successful console in this generation, has the fan base for what is Nintendo's most hyped game in years.
This is Nintendo's Halo.
OXM even said a year ago that if SBM Melee had online there would be no competition and that they would loose.
Also, since when was a console war fought over one group? In a way, it is almost like today's presidential race. It started off with focusing on one thing, in this case experience. Then, one candidate focused on change. He never labeled experience as a bad thing but by focusing on change he took the country by storm.
Nintendo saw the video game market and must have been disgusted. Video Games are pieces of art. Not a comic book store. I own a 360 and a Wii. I own 3 games for the Wii and 7 for the 360. If asked for my 3 favorite games that I have, 2 of them will be on the Wii.
JC Barnett probably upset with the Wii because he doesn't really know how to make games for it. He knows how to make them for the PS3 and the 360 though. Just because it has a different style of games does push it out of the war. If anything, the Wii has moved above and past the war.
