I personally won my Julian through a raffle just like this and I'm still so thankful for the person that gave him away, I know I couldn't (and still couldn't) ever afford Julian and it made me so happy that I got him for free.
Regardless of the villager being popular or not, its a wonderfully nice thing for someone do to. All you seem to see is (Auction) (AUCTION)
(AAAAAUUUCTION), which I understand, wanna make money. Heck, I got Marshal from someone giving me money for a villager (though they were offering, and I mean, I'm poor lol, also omg I only got him for 15mil like waatt) But still, she could have sold him and got a crap load and maybe finish her loans, or even buy another dreamie, but she's giving him away.
