Hello, i have been making hybrids for ages now, i get quite a lot, but for some reason I am getting no Cosmos at all, they're not even producing normal (non-hybrid) coloured flowers, i'm not doing anyhting different than i do with any of my other flowers... can anyone help?

i have checked thee hybrid guide, i'm doing everything it says and i'm not doing anyhting different to any other types of flowers

I never get hybrds so I am trying to find someone that will come over and help me lay my flowers out the proper way.

I'm having the same problem. I have tons of tulips, loads of pansies, and lately I get roses every single day, but cosmos... not so much. In fact, right now I only have one cosmos hybrid... a pink one.

Maybe different flowers are more likely to produce hybrids at different times of the year. I think most of my tulip hybrids spawned in the winter, and in the spring I was getting mostly pansies. It would appear that roses are a summer spawning flower, and therefore I would assume that cosmos would be an autumn flower.

This isn't published anywhere, to my knowledge, so it's only theory. And this isn't to say you won't see hybrids out of these seasons... but it seems to me that each type of flower spawns more hybrids in a particular season. Anyone else seeing this?

Kalinn... you are the hybrid master. How about the seasonal thing I mentioned. You get more hybrids than anyone I know, are you seeing more hybrid growth in certain seasons for certain flowers?

i get alot of pansies in the spring..
but all the other ones are about the same all year round.

All I know is that I've been doing grass rehab for the last 3 days (TTing one day at a time) and on each day I water flowers, plant new ones (alongside my paths), and collect hybrids to put in my house. I've been TTing through may and now I'm a week or so into June, and all I'm seeing is roses lately. I've had a ton of black and purple roses (and as a result, now, a ton of blue and gold roses) as well as a handful of pink and orange roses. The rest of my flowers have barely produced anything at all.

I don't have a tough time with any specific type of flower, it just seems certain hybrids take way longer to grow than others of the same type of flowers. Here's my breakdown, all numbers are close estimates.

15 pink cosmos
15 orange cosmos
3 black cosmos

15 orange pansies
5 blue pansies
5 purple pansies

11 pink tulips
4 purple tulips
4 black tulips

10 purple roses
10 black roses
8 orange roses
6 blue roses
3 pink roses

I've been working on hybrids since around January I think, and I JUST got my 3 black cosmos in the past week or two. Same goes for my pink roses, don't know why, just took forever to produce any. My pink tulips sprouted up from 2 to 11 in about a month's time. Also had one black tulip and one purple tulip and just finally got more of those to grow in the last couple weeks.

Someone suggested changing the color of your roof can help hybrid growth, and I seemed to have positive results with that, but only with the first couple changes. I am slowing down how often I change the color to see if maybe there is a limit to how often you can change your roof and still get increased hybrid growth.

Good luck!

I'm guessing just bad luck, because I really have no care for hybrids even though I used to care for them and still know a lot about them.

its weird though because the cosmos arent even producing children of non-hybrid colours
are there houses, weeds, buried items, patterns, trees, items, or fruit laying right next to them?
