Hi! I just started New Horizons yesterday. I reset for some decent villagers: I got Frita and Hamlet (who I love). I have a blue airport and oranges. Do you guys have any tips for starting out?

Hi! Theres also a “native flower” in this game. Go look up at the top of the cliffs in your town, and thats your town flower.

As for starting out.. It’s a pretty long “tutorial” phase so the game should somewhat guide you. Just keep collecting sticks, picking weeds, grabbing stones, For crafting!

I don't know if you already know all of this but just in case:

Try to gather as many resources as you can, especially iron nuggets since you will need those later on for a shop.

When Tom Nook tells you that there are three villagers interested in the Getaway Package don't finish their houses if you don't want random villagers to move in. You can invite three villagers from the mystery islands.

In order to save up Nook Miles pay off your first loan asap so you can move into a house and get Nook Miles+.

I would advise you to redeem your Nook Miles for the tool wheel and an inventory upgrade but it's up to you.

If you need some guidance this guide is really helpful as well: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.po...aily-goals-how-to-unlock-museum-steps-farming

Otherwise I hope you have fun with the game! :)

I have heard about the three plots villagers (I want Audie, Sherb/Erik, and Merengue) but does anyone know how to get more villagers beyond that? Do we have the freedom to choose, like the first three plots?

nook will give you the option to sell your land at some point (after the resident services building is done and you do a couple of things with nook first) which means giving you the option to plot houses around your island for a fee. with time villagers will move into these spaces but you can also use amiibo and nook miles tickets to find villagers.

If you see a tarantula \Scorpion, catch it. They sell for 8k each

When you get to the point where you have to build and furnish 3 plots, you can use a reset trick to get villagers you want (or just avoid hated ones) if you couldn’t find em on islands.

Basically, make all the outdoor furniture for every house and make sure it’s close enough so that it counts and is checked off on the list, but don’t submit all the indoor furniture to the box - leave at least one of the required items outside each house.

Wait for the autosave (the saving symbol when loading into the game doesn’t count).

Now quickly submit the last item, run over to Nook and tell him. He’ll let you know that you can look at the plaque to find out who is moving in. Run back to the plot. Check the name. If you don’t like it, reset the game. If you do like it, wait for the autosave and move on to do the same with the next plot.

Wow! I was completely unaware of this. I might try it. We'll see...

Also, how do we get Snooty and Cranky villagers?

Probably a little issue I have faced and it's the location of the town hall. Once you pick a spot you cant use the infrastructure option on it later, only shops and villager houses. once you pick a spot that's where it will stay.

I think I'm happy with its location. We can move our house's location though right? I want it on a hill.

Don't mute the volume. Even though it's really tempting to do with the repetitive music, you want to be able to hear things like balloons, insects, and fish.
