Is there a good website out there that explains the town charms and what they do for you? Having trouble finding any details.

Also, how do you know if you fulfill a charm? Do you get any sort of message telling you that you've done it? Like, if you're in someone's town and you plant a tree, which is their charm, how do you know it worked?

I believe that the charms give your town a certain task for visitors to do and if they do the task they get a little lucky. For example my town charm is if someone catches a pill bug in my town they get lucky in some way. In my friends town if I catch a yellow perch my flowers won't wither away that much.

Yep, I get that. I was just wondering what exactly the lucky stuff was. Like if you're supposed to have financial luck, what exactly does that mean?
