Kenny Rogers prepares to hang up his microphone. :(

So the famous Kenny Rogers is prepared to hang up the microphone. I actually don't know who he even is, but he must mean a lot to people. Anyone want to discuss any favorite preformances of his?

I don't really care because I'm not really a fan of him, but for years it's been my dream for him to sing this live at my wedding. Guess I either need to get married ASAP or come to accept I'll have to use a pre-recording :\

Kenny Rogers got famous in the 60's with his band,The First Edition.They were mostly a rock & roll band but they played a lot of different styles of music,including country.After he left the First Edition,Rogers went country full time and was mega popular in the 80's.He also has done some acting and helped start his own chain of chicken restaurants called Kenny Roger's Roasters(there's a Seinfeld episode about a very bright Kenny Roger's Roasters sign that's hilarious).I'm not a huge Kenny fan but I liked the First Edition and his country stuff is good too,especially compared with what's going on currently.He's pretty old now...near 80 I think so yeah,I'm not surprised he's hanging it up.

I'm not a huge fan, but I do know of him. It's a shame.

I'm surprised, though. If anything I thought he'd do a big comeback album.
