After looking through the thread asking about worst items in NH, it got me thinking about furniture items that NH is lacking in. Personally, I miss a lot of the old furniture that they removed with NH. Yes, I'm aware that they will most likely bring back old sets and new designs through future events, but I have so say that I was sorely disappointed with the lack of furniture that the game launched with. Clothing variety was increased so much! They really implemented the new styles well and gave players so many more options!

A lot of the new furniture is really great too, but the overall pool of furniture we have to choose from doesn't have the variety say Pocket Camp has, which is what I dreamed of for NH, especially since PC was an app game and this is a full (and upgraded handheld) console game. So I expected as much if not more, lol. Even New Leaf's Welcome Amiibo upgrade added in so many items that we got to see carried over into PC, whereas it doesn't seem that many of them made it into NH.

So I wanted to ask: to those who have played previous AC games (Pocket Camp included!), what furniture sets or pieces do you really miss or feel they should bring back? For those who haven't really played any prior AC games, and those who have, where do you feel furniture variety is lacking most (style, type, theme, etc.)? What do you wish we could see more of in our game so that we could have even more design opportunities? Does it bother you that NH seems to be lacking, or are you going with the flow and don't mind too much?

I for one really miss the Regal furniture set from previous AC iterations. I always liked using the pieces in my house! The recolor options for it in NL were really great too; I just always found myself gravitating back to pieces from that series. I also really miss a lot of the Gracie sets! The princess series and gorgeous series! I miss them so much! I guess overall I feel like the game is missing a lot of the more "upscale" style furniture that we had in other games. Aside from the antique set, I feel like there just aren't many other options in that style aside from some standalone pieces (the grand pianos, etc.). Though I do think there are other furniture styles that the game is lacking in as well!

A lot of the furniture sets don't mix and match well. I don't remember much from the previous game but there needs to be more plants and food items. I think it was WW that had like 12 bonsai variations.

Not a lot of table or chair or bed options. It's really hard for me to list anything that might be missing without listing everything!

MUSIC PLAYERS!

The biggest thing for me right now are the food items. I'm sure they'll be added in at some point, but cafes, restaurants, and kitchens just aren't the same without food! Some people have done really amazing custom designs, but I don't have the space for designs I may only use once.

Also really miss the sweets set.

I miss a lot of the Gracie furniture, but I wish we had more table variety! If i wanted a tall 2x1 table, the iron worktable and outdoor table is really the only options that we have.

Yeah, the antique series is the only fancy option that we really have. If the rococo or regal series came back, that would be amazing.. I had both in my house in NL.

I used the Regal tall 2x1 table sooo much in the old games. It really is a shame that we don't have more options of that size! Though the antique console was a nice addition. ☺

I really really really miss the Rococo series, and all of its variants from New Leaf. I also really enjoyed the Grandiose furniture in Pocket Camp, and I miss a lot of the furniture from the older games as well, but I really can't complain. Personally I am satisfied for now, especially knowing there are more updates ahead. I kind of view ACNH as a sort of standalone from all the other games, so in a way I understand and accept it won't have all the previous game furniture. It's just so different from WW, CF, and NL from my own experiences. And each of those games were different from each other, but NH is just... really different. So in another way, I find it really refreshing the furniture is different and limited, yet still customizable.

With a new game, I prefer to see new items. I love bookshelves, and would love the ability to customize the bookshelves with my own selection of books or knick-knacks like video game cartridges, plushies, little figurines, origami models and trinket boxes.

For me its mannequins, food, drinks, food, drinks and more food along with display cases, clothing stacks, suits of armor, pillars and broken pillars (even though frozen pillars & archs/zen stones are working very nicely for me; problem is that i need more but don’t have the recipes or materials and don’t want to ask for more unless i can pay for them), tables that are the size of the desk (not to mention bigger room sizes), 7-11, sloppy, rococo, gorgeous, sweets sets, letter set since the essay set is way too big, swords and bows...

Oh yeah and more food items :p (bring back the baskets for each stack of fruit), Would love all the hhd stuff including claude’s video game displays and consoles (no clue how to use it with a medieval theme but i want it - for free not as paid dlc).

Some better new items would be nice in addition to some “old” items.

I really miss nice, squashy living room/library chairs. And why do we have so few sofas? Also, proper kitchen countertops (like the tiled ones from Pocket Camp that hold one item on top, and you could put them along walls as well as in corners to make L-shaped counters).

Don't even get me started on the lack of bed variety and house plants... And what about all of the school-themed and Japanese furniture? In NL, I had a whole house that was an onsen (with proper changing rooms, stools to sit on, plastic buckets, tiled faucets and mirrors... tons of niche items), and a whole school. Now I can't make either, because the items simply don't exist. There isn't enough to put into a proper teacher's office (where are the cabinets?), or a nurse's room, or a calligraphy/art room.... I could make one classroom, but there would be no point in a separate science room or other specialty subject, because all the rooms would have to look the same.

NH is really terrible for most themed house ideas I can come up with, TBH.

Everything everyone else has mentioned, plus the gamecube shelf. I miss the variety of TV sets, too. I don't think having a bunch of colour variations of one flatscreen is a far tradeoff.

Minimalist, not wooden, modern and sleek furniture. In sets. With tables.

But also all these items that had you scratching your head thinking how the hell you're supposed to put these in your bedroom... just being completely and utterly absent from the game where you literally can finally decorate outside. I'm thinking things along the lines of the rainbow and aurora screens, the items you'd get in just about every Pocket Camp cookie (considering outdoors is what you largely decorate in that game) like little stepping stones and puddles and fairy lights... just stuff like that. We don't have a lot of options to NOT make our house a log cabin, yet people are putting whole bookshelves outside because they ran out of ideas of what to possibly put on their island... Hm.

I am sooo hoping for some of the specialty Pocket Camp items. Some of the sets they've made for the fortune cookies/bug-catching garden events/gyroid hunts etc. are sooooo pretty and cool and fun. Like they did the giant glass terrarium ones not that long ago, or all the different rock garden/hotspring/lit up path/etc items they have, things like that would be so cool to start getting!
