So...keep practicing?

Pretty much, Layla. You might not like your art now but if you just keep on keepin on, at one point you'll start to love it. I go through this all the time, it fluctuates for a lot of people. One day you might hate your art, the next you'll be like "hey. this is actually not bad!"

That happened last week

Your art shows your perspective on the world, your understanding of life, and a connection to the audience with someone else - that makes it very important!

Look at the way you colored your eyes! Look at that shading around her face! Look at how you changed their faces to manipulate how the audience perceives them. That is different from what other people are doing and makes your art very important!!

One of the more-famous Spiderman comic artists of modern times, once told me that every time he sits down to draw, he still thinks in his head, "This is it. This is the day they find out I'm faking. This is the day they all realize I suck." This man is 60 years old, and people have asked for his autograph while I've been talking to him! He told me he made a rule that he never, ever insults his art - because no matter how it looks to him, his work is actually revealing his effort and his own perspective on the world, even on bad days. I had to show him one of the worst things I have ever, ever drawn, and before I could insult it, he shushed me and told me that I had tried and finished this piece, even though I thought it looked terrible, and that drive to get better made this drawing very, very important.

Your art is important. Thank you for sharing it! I am proud of you for reaching out into the scary pit that is art and coming out on the other side! You have done something amazing!!
