Finally decided to make an island journal!
Lemuria was founded in March 2020, like many islands here on the forums. I started out with Sylvia the uchi kangaroo and Drift, the Jock villager. Not long after that, I found Sherb, the lazy goat, on a mystery island. I hadn't heard of him, but his twee appearance really grabbed me and I invited him to move to my town. Shortly thereafter, Tom Nook sold plots to Bluebear the peppy cub, and Dora, the normal mouse.
Like many people, once I realized that the starter homes did not allow for the uniqueness of the villager to shine through via decor, I wanted to spin the wheel again and get new neighbors. However, I kept Sherb and Bluebear for a very long time, and even had Sherb come back through a friend so I could have his actual home, and he remains with me today.
I have kept the general layout of my island the same since the beginning. If you compare my original map to the map I have today, you can see that the original cliffs and river patterns are more or less the same. Some features that I added were a skeleton key (inspired by what I saw in the original river pattern), a path to the secret beach, and some paths that cut through the cliffs, simply because they're fun to run through.
Today, one of the most appealing features of my island is the interior design of the houses, particularly that of my second resident, Pumpkin. Her home is a shopping mall, placed in the downtown district, and it is open 24 hours for your shopping convenience.
Feel free to drop by and visit!
