And thus, continues the series on letters to Carolina villagers, be they past residents, current citizens, or future neighbors! This is actually the first letter I wrote, not too long after Agnes moved out and Rodeo moved in. Originally posted by me on r/AnimalCrossing.

Dear Agnes,

I hope Islanubar is treating you well, and I hope this letter finds you well. It's awful far from Carolina, but it seems like the perfect fit for you, and I'm glad.

I'm not going to lie to you. When I first bought that getaway package, I had no idea what was ahead of me. How was I to know that my first two island mates would be a red hippo with a protein shake fixation and...you? I didn't know what to think of you during the first few days on Carolina, but seeing you sing in the plaza was all I needed for me to realize that you were alright.

But, with that said, it became clear to me a few days ago that this place just didn't have the same lustre for you that it once did; indeed, you had stopped watering the flowers and just stretched in the plaza. A lot. A lot a lot a lot. Once I saw you deep in thought on the eastern shore, it didn't take me long to realize that your time on Carolina had come to its conclusion.

So I guess what I mean to say is, thank you for being part of the foundation that has made Carolina what it is today; an island on the rise, with so much being built, and plenty to do! You had a big hand (hoof?) in making that happen in our very first days here, and to try and act as though you were never here would be insulting to you, to me, to this place we once mutually called home.

Keep on keeping on, chica. You've got the rest of your life ahead of you in a great new island home, with plenty of friends to surround you, and plenty to do, for you to take your turn in becoming part of the foundation of your new island.

Carolina's motto is "Forever to Thee," and I will most certainly never forget you, for one can not write about Carolina history without mentioning you and your contributions. Hopefully a day will come where you can come visit me, Biff, Apollo, and the rest of us once again. We all miss you and we're all hoping that things are going great for you in your new home.

Sincerely,

Dodger
