Lightning Storms

We had quite the thunder and lightning storm last night. I have never been this close to lightning before. I kid you not, it was just about above my head at one point but a couple more feet up in the sky. I finally god one decent video that I wanted to share! I had to post it on youtube to share.

Cool video!! I love thunder and lightning storms. We had one a few days ago that seemed to be really close by as the lightning strikes were occurring within only a second or two apart from each other. I went outside and watched it awhile but I wish I would've thought to record it!

Basically. Like I said it was still a few feet up in the sky, but it was close. And they say lightning doesn't strike in the same spot. It hit that spot twice. Or it was just about the same spot at least. I am glad it didn't hit me either. It was actually such a rush though.

I love lighting and thunder. I once had a really big lightning storm just right close to my house, it was in the middle of the night and the whole neighborhood was sitting outside and each flash lasted so long and was so bright it lit up the street like the sun! It was incredible!

Brilliant I love a good thunder storm. We were supposed to have one last week but I was left seriously disappointed.
We have ended up with flash flooding for the last month or so instead. The last storm we had a couple of weeks ago left my road looking like a river

i rly like lightning storms, at least if i'm inside. around two weeks ago there was a rly intense thunder storm where i live and it was rly cool!! i didnt see a lot of the lightning, but i heard it hahah... the coolest thing about it tho was how much it was raining, like, it was just absolutely pouring.
and the wind made the rain fall almost horisontal... i was glad that i was inside but it was cool to look at B^)

I love thunder storms; gloomy weather is my favourite.

The last thunder storm I experienced was a couple weeks ago, and it was the middle of the night and I winded up falling asleep.

I have always loved thunderstorms since I was a small child! They both terrify me and thrill me! We live in a small coastal town with mountains and lakes which eventually graduate up into the huge Rocky Mountains ...
We quite often get spectacular thunder and lighting storms as the ocean cloud masses roll in and clash with the coastal clouds. Right behind our house is a small lake and small mountain, positioned just perfectly to amplify the thunder which booms so loudly the house shakes.
Yep, I love it!

Same here. I live in the east coast of Canada. We had a crappy winter.

It was no better on the west coast. We were gifted with rain and ice, not snow.

I'd love to have lighting storms more often here in California. On vacation - we were leaving Malaysia and there was a storm going on. It was so pretty to see the lighting in the clouds while in the sky (a little scary though too).

oh wow, that looks so cool! i really like thunder/lightning storms, we don't get them too often here, or at least not big ones anyway but the other night there was a really bad one. buildings and roads near me got pretty messed up though which wasn't good, but i love thunder/lightning.

Absolutely love storms, only thing I fear is my computer getting shocked lol. But those are awesome bolts, I remember a few years ago there was a storm with that sort of display and it struck a tree near my house. I live in a forest, so that possibility is always there.

I think something may have gotten stuck by lightning close by before I took that video. I was sitting in my bedroom and I head a big crack and it sounded like something else. It scared the crap out of me because it was very loud. And the power went out right after I heard it. 1,500 people were without power and it was down for 2-3 hours, give or take. It was up 2 hours earlier then they estimated though, which was awesome!

It's been thundering again a little today, but nothing big. It's just because its been so warm and humid here.

I live in Lightning Alley in Florida and I wish I could give y'all who like storms these that we get. They're fun for the first start of summer but getting them daily gets old. We're having one right now, we lost power a few hours ago from it. They've become nothing special and more of a bother, its hard to go anywhere or get anything done outside while there's a storm.
