Hello, everyone!
I'm new on belltreeforums and as I'm going through the forums, I've realized I don't understand what most of everyone is saying.
So I was wondering if someone could explain three things? What does cycling your village exactly mean, how do you do it, and what does a boxed villager mean?
I would appreciate if someone could help me out here. I'm so out of the loop.

Welcome to the forums!

Cycling your village is the process of forcing villagers to move out, and new ones to move in, until you get the ones you're looking for. You time travel ahead, then run around until one of your villagers 'pings' you (runs up to you to talk) and says that they're moving.
On the day that they say they are going to Move, they pack up all of the furniture in their house into boxes ready to leave. This is what a boxed villager is. If a villager has their stuff in boxes, someone from another town can visit your town and invite the boxed villager to come to their town.

If I didn't explain something well enough (which is likely), just say so and I'll try to explain it again ;)

I think I can help you out. I just hope I can explain things properly.

A "boxed villager" is referring to when a villager in their very last day a town. When you visit a moving villager on their last day in town the inside of their house looks like it's all packed up and ready for when they move. Many people refer villager in this state as being "in boxes", "boxed", "a boxed villager", or some kind of variation.

From my understanding "cycling" is referring cycling villager. This when you let villager move out for the reason of having someone new move in.

Some players have what is known as "cycling towns", which are a secondary town or town in a second game they own, in which are towns that are primarily used for just cycling villager to either sell, giveaway or try to get more desired villager for their main town or first or main game.

Also some people also cycle villagers either looking for a specific villager or villagers or they are doing the 16 villager cycle in order to regain a beloved villager that they lost. Either through a time travel accident or they just suddenly moved. If you want to regain a villager that moved out of your town, you have to cycle or let 16 villagers move out of your town. Once you do that you have a chance of them naturally moving or if you go to a town where they are in boxes, they are more likely to say yes. I've never done this so I don't know if the 16 cycle will have them say yes like normal or just help your chance of them saying yes.

I hope this helps. I'm sorry if it's a bit long winded.
