Hazy dreams and lullabies, ahhh the warm comfort of sleep. When the party winds down and the eyes grow heavy, it’s decided that it’s time to turn down the lights. Everyone goes to their soft blankets and cuddly pillows with a good night from friend to friend. A dreamy glow from the illuminated stars on the ceiling are all that remain as you drift softly off to sleep. As you doze you hear the faint dreamlike chime of a music box, singing notes of five, seven, and five again....

Haikus may be slumber party, dream or lullaby related. Want to write about the snacks you ate at the party? Sure thing! Something funny your friend said while sleeping or the dream you had? Tell us! Just be sure to follow the directions!

What is a Haiku?

---

A Haiku is a type of poem that typically has three lines each with a specific number of syllables for each line. The first line contains five syllables, the second line contains seven, and the final line contains five syllables again. They don’t even have to rhyme!

How to Participate

---

Create a Haiku based on the theme and submit your Haiku to the Private Contest and Event Submission board and select the “Little Lullabies” contest name. Only one Haiku per user will be counted. Remember, to only submit one Haiku, if you submit multiple, only the first will be counted! This contest will run from August 16th-September 6th and end September 6th at 11:59pm FT. Afterward, the staff will select their very favorite Little Lullabies and put them up for a vote!

You are welcome to share your entries in this thread, just be sure to submit them to the submissions board if you want them to count!

A nightmare is still dream related, you’d be fine to submit something like that
