I'm not sure if it's for the DIY or not. But if you talk to your villagers after getting the DIY, they'll give you some red wrapping paper!

This actually didn't work for me. None of my villagers offered my wrapping paper.

Oh no really? I was lucky and it worked for me! When they asked if I was going to exchange gifts I didn't and they then gave me the paper ..

Yeah, it didn't work for me for some reason. It's not a big deal, just a little annoying.

I think you must complete giving all the villagers the gift out of the magic bag. Have a toy or something you wish to give to a villager but have no wrapping paper in your pocket. Talk to a villager and they'll want to do a gift exchange . Then they will give you wrapping paper since you don't have any .
