Peeped this online today; I've experienced this before but not for more than ten minutes..

I'm honestly too scared to even try this. Sleep Paralysis can let you hallucinate some weird stuff.

There's a huge difference between lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis, so please do not try the instructions going around online. They are often misinformed. Sleep paralysis is a horrible experience that I've been through a few times and wouldn't wish on anyone. As a general note to anyone attempting to lucid dream, which is a way to consciously be aware of and control your dreams, please research what the difference between the two are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dreaming http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

^^^^^^^^agree w/ all of this

i was also super fascinated with lucid dreaming before and kept trying to do it, and i was almost successful once except as soon as i was lucid i woke up lel--

BUT THEN there were several times I just got sleep paralysis it'S REAL AND IT'S NO JOKE
anyways I got really traumatized I don't even want to try I don't even like reading about it anymore because I might think about it again before I sleep or whatever hGUHEUGH

Sleep paralysis is freaking terrifying. Felt my heart drop at 1000 mph when I realized I couldn't move haha...

I believe I've gone lucid twice. It's incredibly fun but sometimes a bit...odd.

I feel like it's kind of dangerous for me to do since I legitimately will miss dream worlds. I have gorgeous, full color, wind and sky dreams. The only thing that's usually missing is emotion, so I don't get night terrors.

My dreams are like surreal versions of the guy who animated 5 cm/sec and children who chase lost voices, except you can touch it and breathe in the air and everything. It's hilariously gorgeous.

I've lucid dreamed a few times, it's not that hard if you're half awake, and half asleep, I've only had sleep paralysis once in my life, when I was a kid I woke up in the middle of the night and I could not move, it felt like something was holding me down, I though it was a ghost or something, it was scary as hell.

I've been trying to reliably lucid dream for ages, but I've only done it properly a few times. The first time I did, when I realized I was dreaming, I immediately put myself in a wide open plain and started flying. Because priorities.

I don't think I've ever experienced sleep paralysis either, but I've woken up to panic attacks and other weird scary stuff, but I was never unable to move.

The weird thing was whenever I tried to take control of my dreams and change things up, I actually felt a splitting headache for a few seconds. I'm not sure you're supposed to feel pain in your dreams, haha. I'm not even sure you're supposed to feel anything in your dreams, but I do it all the time, so eh.

I have a friend obsessed with trying to be a lucid dreamer.
I don't want it to happen to me, I want my dreams to be real rest, and I like not being in control for a change.
If I want to skip around fantasy lands I have the internet, hah.

I\ve had lucid dreams many times.. Very scary. I hate being stuck, unable to wake up. I remember being in a dream & screaming at my friend that we were in a dream & she wasn't real. Then I kissed her cause I knew it was never gonna happen irl, it was my only chance xD

I'm kind of scared of sleep paralysis... It's sounds like some scary stuff. I don't know if I've actually had a lucid dream, but I've had a falling dream. xD I can't remember if I've ever been able to control a dream and, as long as it's not a nightmare, I'd like to be able to experience it one day.

That sounds terrifying, but I'm really curious to try it.

Okay guys, i have talked to MANY sleep doctors (cuz insomnia and stuff) and Sleep Paralysis is actually a great technique to master lucid dreaming. And Sleep Paralysis isn't that scary if you close your eyes. Eyes closed = no hallucinations. :) and the only reason you imagine scary stuff is because you are freaking out, if you just remain calm and relax then you probably wont hallucinate, just try and get back to sleep.

Not worth the sleep paralyse thing.

But if i could id want to lucid dream about animal crossing so much ;_;

I've lucid dreamed about 3 times in my life, I haven't mastered just diving into it. I'm not scared of sleep paralysis since I have two cats, so if they don't freak out and claw all over my chest trying to run away, I'll be cool.

I think I've gone lucid once before. The area around me looked like a beach with graphics from Nintendo 64. I just started flying up and down randomly and then there was a guy standing there so I just went up behind him and started humping him... don't ask.

I've gone through sleep paralysis before and it is TERRIFYING. It's like I hallucinated that there was a freaking murderer coming to me and I couldn't move or scream or anything. After that I turned on all the lights and was afraid to even lay down... :,(

Yeah, I have at least 2 lucid dreams accompanied with at least one episode of sleep paralysis each week. Just went to the doctors for that too. Looks like they're going to do some sort of sleep study on me sometime next week.
