Lucid dreaming is essentially just a dream that you can control, as in you're aware you're in a dream and you can shape the world in anyway you want. I've always wanted to try it but I never dream for some reason, I spent an entire month trying lucid dreaming techniques and it never worked.

Has this ever happened to you? Any stories?

i used to lucid dream a lot & it was one of the reasons why i was afraid of sleeping. it would happen like 90% of the time & i'd end up having no control of my dreams & it would usually get horrifying. i'd always force myself to wake up so i'd get sleep paraylsis... usually people think it's cool but i think it's uncommon to have what i experience. i don't think it's normal
it now happens like 40% of the time & it's more calm, but bad things still happen when i realise i'm dreaming so...

here's a website if you wanna understand it more & learn a few techniques

I do it a'plenty...
Apparently after I met someone irl.
Really, I kind of like it. :p

I can control them and keep them calm and easy. HOWEVER!
Specific dreams I get end up becoming a reality... and some are to be hated with a passion. :l

OMG YES WHEn i was like a little Antonio, i had this nightmare of this hand under my bed and i just think to myself that i don't want to have a nightmare dream but then it totally change like i started to dream that i was doing the thing when jimmy neutron when he is trying to really really thing with the neurons and we're inside his brain and stuff then i went to this lego world where i was a cowboy but i was just a little anotnio back then so my dreams we're wacked as ****. bai

It happens to me a lot. I've been trying to astral project for many years, and with only one successful experience, all the others have been lucid dreams. Neat stuff, but not what I'm after.

Thanks for a link

after reading about it it seems like something I would really want to try out

I've know what lucid dreaming was for a while and I've never had one and one of my friends has had two and she didn't do anything cool, she just frickin did was what she NORMALLY DOES! She told me that the reason she knew she was dreaming in one of them was she answered a text and she never does so she was like "Oh I'm dreaming" and then she just played it out a normal day, and she did this not once but TWICE! When she was telling us this I was like, "Bro, you could've had anything happen, you could've blown up the school, became a God or superhero or done at least something interesting, but NOOOO you just play it out like it was a normal boring day in your life."

Funny this thread gets posted, I just began working on LDing again a few nights ago. Used to do it a lot when I was a teenager and was able to become lucid about once a week on a regular basis. Fell out of it around the time I stopped keeping a dream journal which IMO is very important for improving your recall. I had what's called a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) the other night which is when you begin dreaming from a conscious state. Experienced sleep paralysis and everything. Sadly unlike the one other time I managed to pull it off it wasn't very vivid and I had trouble with clarity.

It's a great hobby that doesn't require too much of your time as it's time you spend sleeping anyway. :p Everyone dreams but not everyone easily remembers them. For anyone getting started I can't stress the importance of keeping a dream journal. It's a simple yet effective way of improving your recall and figuring out what your dream signs are.

Done it a few times. I once made myself lift off the ground and start flying. Then I turned around uncontrollably and flew into the ground. I woke up.

I've only lucid dreamt 2-3 times in my life and that was all back in 9th grade :/ 6 years ago. I hardly dream or remember my dreams tbh. I usually wake up with no recollection.
