Luigi’s Mansion 3 General Discussion

I went looking for a thread discussing the new Luigi?s Mansion 3 game coming out very soon (October 31st, 2019) on Nintendo Switch and couldn?t find one so I figured I?d make one!

Is anyone else hype for this game? I enjoyed playing Dark Moon on 3DS, but I?m really looking forward to playing the full campaign this time in co-op mode. It looks super fun!

I love Dark Moon, one of my favorite 3DS games. I will definitely be picking 3 up, but from the footage I’ve seen, I wish it had a creepier atmosphere. Looks kinda bright most of the time.

I never finished Dark Moon (I lost the cartridge), but it was one of the only non Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons or Animal Crossing games I played on it with any regularity. It was spooky, but still funny. I'm definitely looking forward to getting this at the end of the month. Or maybe early next month depending on my paycheck situation, lol.

I'm skeptical, as it looks to be very similar to Dark Moon, which I didn't find to be particularly appealing. It was fun for a bit, but it was nothing special. I much preferred the original for GameCube. It felt much more like a cartoon-ish horror game than the darkly-lit puzzle game with ghosts that Dark Moon is. There were parts in the first Luigi's Mansion that actually made me feel uneasy when I first played it, but Dark Moon was nothing like that. I guess that's what happens when Nintendo alienates their more experienced fan base and cater only to kids under 12. I hope that Luigi's Mansion 3 is closer to the first one than Dark Moon.

I really enjoyed playing the first one, even if I was never able to finished it. Dark Moon was overall ok,
but not really my favorite one to be honest. I lost way quicker my interested in it compared to the first
one where I spent hours over hours into it. The new one looks very good so far and I will definitely get
it at some point. Really looking forward for it.

I can't wait to play this game! Yeah, they all kinda look the same but it had some difference that I haven't seen in Luigi's Mansion before. It looks fun. I loved New Moon and really liked the new Luigi's Mansion. I think I liked New Moon more as I feel it was a little harder and longer for a game. For the price of Nintendo Switch games, I hope it's more like New moon. But different. Haha. I just love them for some reason. Probably because I like anything to do with ghost. Haha.

I don't even own a switch yet. I plan on buying the lite in November. I get paid three times next month, so it would be a good time to finally get one. I need to buy one for when AC Horizons comes out. Luigi's Mansion 3 will probably be the first game I end up getting.

I'm really excited for this game. Dark Moon was a great game, so I'm excited to see what comes next for the series.

Just one more day! I know lots of people will be playing it at midnight tonight, but I won't be until tomorrow evening after work. I can't wait to try out the co-op!

Pre-purchased a digital copy! I've seen a few reviews/playthroughs and i'm absolutely stoked!

Just played it a little bit (maybe 30-45 minutes). Haven't really gotten much progress done, mostly just been messing around. Man, this game looks stunning. Looking forward to playing it a bit more.

I really want to buy this game but it's too close to Sword and Shield for me. I will likely be picking this game up next year in the middle of January when I'm bored of Pokemon and in a bit of a drought. Will be monitoring this thread for general reviews of the game.

Just started playing and I'm super excited to see what's in stored. It sure is a pain waiting until you arrive from work and open your package and start a new game.

I got to the floor where you first get Gooigi. I gotta say playing co-op during the main story is super fun. Kinda wish you could start it right at the beginning but thankfully unlocking it isn't too far in.

Really loving Luigi’s Mansion 3, as expected. I’m maybe around half way through. Spent a lot of time scouring every nook and cranny for the gems, of the 8 floors I unlocked I’ve only missed one on two floors.
I’m playing the game with hints off and I won’t be purchasing anything in the stores, gonna feel so accomplished 100%ing this game.

I finally bought a switch yesterday. A used one. But no damage, works great, and cheaper then buying it used! Luigi's Mansion was the first game I got! I started playing it yesterday.

So far I really like it. You can do some things you couldn't in New Moon or the new version of Luigi's Mansion. I would say its more similar to new moon. Same sort of story line and same objectives, not different things to do to complete the objectives. It's been fun so far. Maybe not as hard as I found new moon but not as easy as Luigi's Mansion. It gets you to think but I have gotten through so far without having to look online (unlike new moon). Someone said they didn't think it looked spooky enough, that it was too dark. I'd say its the same as the other games. Has a kinda long intro you couldn't skip. It was cool though. I like how more involved the ghost dog is. Super cute.

I want to get this game but I just bought Ring Fit Adventure and pre-ordered Pokemon Shield so I’m like... do I get this one too of wait a bit? Is it good enough for me to pick up now or should I wait until like early next year to get it? I’m conflicted
