Earlier tonight, Diana asked me if she could move...
When I first got to Lumos and saw the villagers that lived there, I knew how lucky I was and I knew that I'd pretty much hit the jackpot as far as villagers are concerned. A lot of people reset for days so they can get villagers like Chief and Diana. Me?
I reset for twenty minutes and honestly, I didn't care what kind of villagers I got as long as I had a halfway decent map.
Even though I knew I had gotten lucky, though, I actually did not like Diana right away. In fact, I found her very annoying. Yeah, she was pretty, but her catch phrase "no doy" immediately reminded me of a snotty teenage girl. That's because I was associating her with a snotty teenage girl. I knew that and still, I couldn't bring myself to move past the association.
Then Diana disappeared for a while. She was hiding out in the shopping district of Lumos, doing whatever and I actually found myself beginning to miss her. Like a lot. I logged back into the game every night to go beetle farming and was relieved to see that she had returned to Lumos. After that a few days of her absence, Diana actually began pinging me just to give me random gifts. She even gave me a make-up case, which I think is rare or something because a lot of people seem to want to buy it in the Re-Tail on here. Honestly, though, I did find that particular gift a bit passive aggressive, but decided to keep it to put in my bathroom nonetheless.
The thing that really sold me on Diana, though, was when she picked up Kiki's catch phrase of "kitty cat". At first, it struck me as odd. I mean, I knew villagers picked up each other's catch phrases all the time, but to me, a deer saying "kitty cat" was just strange. Now, I find it hilariously adorable and it always makes me smile when I hear Diana say it.
And I actually really like Diana. She's grown on me a lot and even though I'm not sure if I want her to stay in Lumos forever, I was actually really sad when she asked if she could leave. I said no. Then I sent her a letter with a cowrie shell in it, telling her that she was my friend and I didn't want her to leave.
Not yet anyway. I asked her to please remember that.
Anyway, the point to this is, even though I didn't really like Diana all that much when I first met her, I really don't think Lumos would be the same without her and I'm actually finding myself rethinking my list of dreamies.
