Magic bus?

I'm getting seriously worried about exactly where the bus in ACCF comes from and goes to. In my town there's a river on one side of the bus stop and a cliff face on the other. Since the bus goes past the town gates how exactly does it get to the city? At least the train in AC GG had thee sense to go into a tunnel!

weird thing is, that when it drops you off in the city, it continues on, but then,. when you want to leave, it doesn't come back the opposite way, but the way it came in.
