Since the high school marching season is starting up, I'm here to ask if any of you are in a marching band at your schools. I'm in a band, we call ourselves the Marching Knights, and I'm super hyped for our show this year. The music is super cool (I play trumpet), and it's like a WWI Russian theme. If you're in a band, what's your show theme this year, and what instrument do you play?

I was in Marching Band my Freshman and Sophomore years of HS back in the 07-08 and 08-09 school years. I played the flute. I absolutely LOVED Marching Band. I so wish I could do it again...

I marched all four years of high school and I always loved marching band. I always thought it was way more fun than concert season where you just sit around learning pieces.
I played the alto saxophone and I was a section leader for 2 years! My school even marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC my senior year of high school. It was pretty fun! Our marching band was pretty good and won a bunch of awards while I was there and I hear they got a lot better after they got a new band director after I graduated. I always thought the marching competitions were so much fun and I loved seeing other schools perform really fun shows!
I quit band all together when I graduated but I almost joined my university's marching band when my roommate talked about how fun it was, but I decided I was really done with band for good

I did marching band back in high school. I marched trumpet (even though I wanted to switch to bass clarinet lol).
I had a blast. Especially my senior year. My high school marching 'career' really went out with a bang, as we achieved everything we wanted and much more. They have been competing in the top tier of Grand Nationals ever since. I only hope they haven't gotten too big of heads by now. Winning the state competition and super-regional for years in a row will probably do that, though. Geez.
It's been pretty much a whole decade now, though. I actually used playing the oboe as an excuse to get out of marching band returning to college this semester. I hate it, because I'd love to march, but I just am not in a physical state to march anymore. =(

I wasn't in marching band but we had some people in my theater class who also did marching band.
Was really annoying when they had to leave rehearsal early.
