I began to read the letter my mother had sent me for a third time. She was so excited that I was finally coming home. I've spent years travelling the world and now I'm about to take one more adventure before settling back home. As I looked back up I saw a strange looking red-eyed cat staring at me. I stuffed the letter quickly into my pocket.
"May I sit here?" He asked as he gestured towards the seat in front of me.
I nodded and as soon as his tail met the train's seat cushion he began to strike up a conversation with me. He asked me a range of questions: What's my name? Where am I going? Do I have enough bells to spend there? He was quite the curious cat, but unlike his appearance he was very friendly and kind. As we were finishing up our conversation the train porter announced that we were arriving to our destination: Marimba Village.
As soon as I exited the train station a group of animals surrounded me and shouted at the top of their vocal chords, "WELCOME!". I was very nervous and confused about what was going on. A cute banana-colored poodle who seemed to be the leader of the group began to tell me how happy she and the villagers were to finally have their mayor. I tried to explain to them that they were making a mistake, but they thought that I was being humorous. I then realized that the situation was indeed humorous, maybe people here in Marimba like to play jokes on their tourists. I decided to play along, I like games.
