Max Rooms?

So I know with each remodel you can add a room (if I am not mistaken, I've only done one so far..RIP) but I was wondering what the MAX room number was in HHD, is it 6 like the Mayors house in ACNL? Also do the extra rooms get bigger the more you remodel or do they stay the same dimensions? I want to make some elaborate houses for a few of my villagers...

As far as i know there are just a handful of templates to choose from and nothing more than that...

Well I know each time you go back to remodel it has the option of making it "bigger" I just haven't done more than one so far...

Exactly. I have been doing quickies on a lot of houses because I intend to go back and re-do them to be much larger to have all the rooms a house actually needs XD

Unfortunately it seems like the maximum amout of rooms you can have is only three, and each aditional room can only be 6x6. However, the main room can be expanded up to 12x8, which is pretty neat!

Yeah, the max room # is three, but the main room is huge when it's maxed out, so if you throw in some walls it can easily act as two or more.
The side rooms can only be 4x4 or 6x6 (and if you upgrade, they'll automatically be at 6x6), but the main room has about 8-10 different sizes (estimating because I prob. missed one).

If you start with a large 1 room, before adding an extra room on the side you can then redesign it to have an upstairs and downstairs all the same size as the large main room

Yep you can have a max of 3 rooms, and a few layout choices have a second story or basement
There's 4 one-room layouts, 12 two-room layouts and 5 three-room ones.

Some of the larger layouts have to be unlocked by rebuilding villager homes, and selecting a "bigger house" option like you say Kaydee.

Yeah I played around with it today and that main room does get huge! I'm just sad that the other rooms don't get bigger, because I'm going to have to work around fitting everything I want into the smaller spaces, but at least the upstairs and downstairs are larger than the tiny little side rooms.

Ohh, is the huge first room required to get the other rooms? Because i honestly don't like gigantic rooms, i just can not fill them up nicely. It always becomes a total mess. No one wants that in their house!

I don't think so, I think you can choose to widen the main room as well but I think you can just select the extra rooms without making the main room larger. I like the large room because for most things I can make two rooms like KitchenWhisk said, or do like a kitchen/living room kind of thing, or use the screens to separate it into "sections"
