Medals convert in bells?

I really love to do tours and usually I'm able to buy lots of stuff from the island. I wanted to sell them here but usually the prices are way to much or way to low. Wouldn't be easier if we had a convert or something? c: Like 1 melal =100 bells / 1 medal=1000 bells.
I don't know how to price my stuff, I don't want them to de overpriced but I worked for that medals. What's your opinion?

Generally, I question myself on this topic a lot as well.

Because I like to hoard things from the island all the time but when I see threads asking for millions for one item, I wonder. Because I understand its their item and they are selling it but what if it costs 30 or so medals? Thats not a whole lot of medals.

But again, I think you should look at how rare the item is that you are selling.

For example if I would use the convertwith 1000, wich would benefit to the seller, I would get for a tropical wallpaper( wich is 100 medals) 100k.

Mermaid furniture is 40 medals so I would get 40k per item.

Is it overpriced?

I mean, an official conversion thing would be nice, but there's no way to enforce it.

Well you could do it without the oficial thing. c: For example I could use it, you could use it,River could use it, and the buyers will buy the items from us because they are cheaper then the ones from the people that want millions. In time it could happen because they would need to adjust to survive in the competition.

It's just an ideea, everybody is free to do what they want, but I would love to use this. c: Makes me feel better that I'm not a scammer. XD

Well, that's why those items are millions of bells. Because they're rare. The medals themselves don't determine the value of the item-- anybody can get 16 Medals in 2 or 3 minutes of Scavenger Hunt. But there are just some items from the island that lots of people want but can't find.
