Only recently did I find out about the MeteoNook site and weather seeds and I was really excited to try it. I shared it with my bestie and we've been tracking our weather events and patterns to figure things out.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it right. I have logged accurate weather on the hour for almost a week now and taken note of past special events and weather patterns, even using my past livestreams to collect data and accurate times.

I have been fortunate enough in the last week to have had several special weather patterns: Lots of special clouds and a double rainbow (with either another rainbow or double on the way today). I logged 3 to 4 hours worth of stars as well, making sure to get the exact minutes they fell.

However, this seems to have completely screwed up any possible results I have. Everything fell apart here.

Inputting the star times makes the site believe my pattern doesn't exist (even if I only enter and check for a pattern with that day alone). And I was right on the money with them, noting every minute the sections of 5 fell (though I did not record seconds). I also had special clouds throughout all of those four hours. I tried mixing and matching, only doing parts of the star logs, etc, but it never matches with anything in the database.

So my question is thus... is it better to do this WITHOUT logging special clouds or star times? They seem to have completely messed up everything. And even when I take out the star times (or change them a minute forward/behind) and change the clouds to (?), I'm getting weather seeds that are very inaccurate for past events and days I know I had stars, etc. Or should I just ignore anything from 2020/earlier 2021 and the past week and everything else that doesn't fit?

I have been doing this since Wednesday last week (the night I logged the stars) and I still can't figure out what went wrong or why. I have tried removing some days to help, but the patterns that show up are never accurate whatsoever.

And I'm starting to wonder if this may have to do with the upcoming update, which it was mentioned there may be changes in the weather, etc. I'm honestly lost and I was really, really excited to see if this works. My bestie seems to have found his, but I have no answers and it's really frustrating.

I also want to note this: I have never once Time Traveled in my entirety of AC:NH.

I had problems too recently. I’d find seeds after inputting a lot of weather data, but the star times never matched my own. If I tried to enter my star times, I couldn’t find anymore seeds. I figured that meant something was wrong with the weather. I went through and removed EVERY instance where the weather was not ‘Clear’ and kept the star times. I never used seconds, only minutes. Once I did this, I was able to get two seeds. I compared the star times of both to my island and was able to find my seed. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the input! Unfortunately for me, that night of stars was all clear skies when I logged them from 11 thru 2 (Fine04) and special clouds. I also tried (?) with the clouds and got the same zero seed results. And if that didn't help nail anything, I'm not sure what to do. I'll keep that in mind for the future when I hopefully get another chance to log stars.

I found my actual star times to be off by +/- a minute, so I didn't bother imputing specific times, just if I had shooting stars and Celeste.

For normal weather, it's hard to tell sometimes with the clouds so I focused on some obvious ones: clear and rain. Also make sure you're telling it on the hour. I tried guessing sometimes on the half hour and it would mess it up.

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it.

I did try + and - a minute for the stars too, but if they're mixed up like some a minute forward some a minute before, I'll probably never figure it out. lol I guess I'll just stick to stars/Celeste, then.

Yeah, I am definitely telling it right on the hour so there has been no doubt about the accuracy (though just in case, I also try looking with 'Unsure' on some hours to see if I get different results. I took this probably more seriously than I should and that's why I'm frustrated that my data seems messed up and doesn't match up with things recent or past.

In my experience it’s easier to get a match with rainbows and double rainbows + heavy meteor shower dates and light meteor shower dates and times. I don’t bother with cloud and rain data because I’m afraid I might be inaccurate in judging my clouds and rains. In my previous island it took me a while to get my seed. It yielded four matches and what I did was a trial and error method to match future weather predictions and did a process of elimination before finally getting the correct seed. I recently reset tho and with this current island it was super easy for me because I got a rainbow and double rainbow a couple weeks into playing so I got my seed immediately.

Yeah I had to trial and error 4 matches as well. It took me about a month of data, but that's because I had similar issues to the OP. I actually went back and erased a lot of days and focused on only obviously clear hours, and shooting stars (didn't do rainbows).

I've been using the rainbow and star times, but the latter screwed up everything, so I had to take it out and just list it as a light meteor shower. The issue with leaving so many dates with cloud data open again is that they turn into things I know they weren't on found seeds. But yeah, I'm on the look-out for matching future stuff. I'm just worried 'cause when it matches something, or doesn't match, either way, the past becomes completely inaccurate.

I actually thought I had my seed the other day, but it predicted a single rainbow and I got a double, instead. Is that ever incorrect with rainbow predictions? I had been getting so close at that point.

Edit: Actually, looking back on that seed, it's completely inaccurate for my current weather pattern, soooo... guess it was a false lead anyway.

Iirc for the meteor shower, you can categorize it as heavy shower when Isabelle announces it and if she didn’t then it’s a light shower. In my old island, inputting the times the stars fell kinda messed up my results too and yielded inaccuracies so I deleted them and just went with either heavy or light showers. As for the rainbows, I input past data and they matched exactly so I haven’t experienced a wrong prediction yet.

I kept it simple, I only used 2 rainbow times & almost 2 hours data of shooting stars just from one night/an announced meteor shower.

Do not use seconds for the shooting stars, more room for error, just the hour and minute.

And note how many whether it's 5 or 8 shooting stars during that minute, that'll help confirm if/when you have several seeds to choose from.

I remember reading that rainbow times are more effective and specific than clouds, etc.

Hope that helps!

*Tip: once you found it, make sure you write down the number in case the data is lost! This happened to me & I had to redo the whole thing over, not fun!

I'm still not having any luck. I even went back to streams I had with meteor showers and put that in, but with seeds that match, my current weather patterns don't match at all and things don't add up. I'm honestly ready to give up. Mine may just not exist. Anything that mildly works is immediately screwed over when I input information I'm sure is correct even with video evidence. And just using some of those alone, it says no return on results for seeds.

I have two rainbow times and shooting star data. The shooting star data I literally typed down as it was happening so I had the minutes right, but the site says it doesn't exist. I went back and found two meteor shower days that I also confirmed with video evidence of both (8 stars in a minute) and for awhile, I was getting some that worked a bit, but then all sorts of inaccuracies showed up in my current month, even with me taking every day out with any cloud data.

I'm really starting to think mine doesn't exist. Or that the upcoming update on weather has already been patched in behind the scenes and screwed it up.

I got super excited when I discovered MeteoNook and gave up on it pretty quickly. I am 100% certain the weather I logged was accurate, and yet it told me my seed did not exist. And when I googled why it was happening, all the advice was, "You entered the weather wrong."

No, I didn't enter the weather wrong. It's beyond frustrating that's ALWAYS the answer that people give. I know I saw bouncing around that weather patterns might have gotten an update in the game like Amissapanda mentioned.

It's possible that MNs data and the game data doesn't match after recent updates. Ninji last updates the app on 8/16/2020.

However I understand how you feel. I recommend erasing all prior data except light/heavy meteor shower and starting over. May take about 2 weeks to get a good seed as long as your weather jibes with MNs seeds.

I finally got mine! But... it was actually my bestie who found it for me. This might sound a little nuts, but apparently he put in the same info I had and got a return on it, including my star times that it said were inaccurate. So I'd suggest maybe getting a friend to help if you can? I have no idea how he got it to work when I couldn't. lol He was using the exact same info to input that I did (I sent it all to him).

Thanks for the input! Surprisingly, my best friend took my same info and he got the right seed from it! Even the exact star times I logged, which it rejected from me for some reason, even when it was the only thing I entered. It even matches all the way back into 2020 livestreams I had and stuff.

Really interesting! I wonder if clearing my cache and reentering data that I had gotten could help...? Or I might ask my sister if she could try entering data. I don't think she's tried MeteoNook yet. Thanks for the update!

It might help! I went back removed entries at times to try different things, but I wonder if messing around with some things might have affected it and needed a reset. We still can't figure out how he managed to do it with the exact same data I was using, but... it worked somehow! I hope it works out for you, too! Sometimes a fresh outlook from another party really does seem like it can help.

I know this has already been resolved more or less, but just to mention, I didn't input any star times when I found my weather seed. Logging special clouds also didn't help me a lot, and when I was tinkering with the special clouds button, the possible weather seeds I had didn't change no matter whether I had special clouds or not, so I'm not sure how helpful it actually is. As for logging shooting stars, Isabelle isn't the only indicator of a heavy shooting star; sometimes you have to prod the villagers and they'll be the ones saying there's a meteor shower that night. It happened to me when I was verifying my weather seed; I was predicted to have heavy meteor shower but Isabelle didn't announce it. Later on I talked to my villagers and they mentioned having shooting stars that night, so that's still considered a heavy meteor shower.

Not sure why your friend got your seed with the exact same info, maybe it's a bug in the app? I do remember putting 5 hours straight into finding my weather seed through time travelling and I had to change and omit a lot of information because I just couldn't land on the right weather seed, haha. I was pretty sure I placed the right weather for most of the timeslots (I double checked the days by time travelling back) so idk why I kept getting it wrong for a few hours. : (

Yeah, the special clouds are STILL inaccurate for what my actual weather seed is. I think it's best not to take any stock in those whatsoever. But the shooting stars were key for mine, apparently. Though I didn't get a return on them when I put in the info in, my best friend did---down the exact minutes I logged. And yeah, I had unannounced meteor showers every time I can remember having them (which is like twice, lol). Isabelle has never announced one for me yet. I found one through talking to villagers and the other just happened to start while I was livestreaming one night, haha.

It could be a bug or something or maybe I should have reset data instead of removing things manually when I tried just the star times. But yeah, I at least feel mollified now that I have my seed and can verify that my information actually was correct, down to star times and correct day weather determinations/logging. I didn't time travel, but I imagine that's pretty frustrating when you're making that effort to log the weather patterns too. And it's possible that the amount of times I looked for seeds, I somehow bogged up the system on my browser. Whatever the case, it's over and done with and I hope others who don't yet have their seeds can consider getting an outlook/attempt from another party. It certainly worked for me.

Inputting the weather or clouds, or trying to tell the difference between light rain or heavy rains, was too much for me.

I like to take screenshots when wishing on stars, so luckily had timestamps. My suggestion is to also not bother with anything after midnight... because it counts as the previous day and it is very easy to make a mistake. For example, 2AM on the 15th actually has to put under the 14th. Even knowing this I kept making mistakes.

I figured mine out with screenshots of Celeste visits, rain (marked as unknown light/heavy unless it was a thunderstorm), shooting star minutes... and I think that's about it. Basically only input stuff you are 100% sure about.
