This is the first month since I started playing where some of the critters that are 'new this month' are ones I've caught before. It feels kinda surreal. Is that weird?

Think I started playing sometime in April and a few of the 'new this month' sea creatures on the fandom wiki page, I've already caught.

This feels cool. It feels like another bit of progress like getting my flowers all in order and such. I'm happy. 🦄😄

Yeah, once you've been playing long enough that creatures have gone, and then come back, it's sort of almost nostalgic. Not real true nostalgia, but just a "oh my gosh, you're back, cool!" I love the fall, and New Horizons does not disappoint with the season, and booting up the game and seeing the monarch butterflies... ugh, I just get so happy and warm feeling.

I didn't check the wiki until later so coming out of my house and seeing the monarch was such a happy surprise. When I was in first grade, we had caterpillars we watched turn into Monarchs then released them all at once, it was the coolest thing 6-year-old me had seen, outside of Return of the Jedi. ;) <3 It is funny that some of the critters are around so much that some are coming back yet some I've still not seen. I love the first rollover to a new month, I always explore first before checking things.

I don't really much care for catching bugs or fish since I completed the Museum on my old island "Traverse" before I deleted it. I must say it does get repetitive seeing the same fish and bugs you caught already and even though you complete the museum it still feels like you're just doing the same thing you did last year. I mean I would've mind if they added new creatures to the game, it would give me some motivation to catch them, but as someone who as played this game last year, I don't find myself doing this.

I completely understand that. I guess it's still fresh for me. I get feelings like that with new playthroughs of Stardew.
